freakingeek
This is spot on and is the most important factor in MM's development. That and the fact he has the arm strength to do it. http://espn.go.com/blog/tennessee-titans/post/_/id/15071/marcus-mariotas-lack-of-fear-bigger-than-lack-of-picks-columnist-says The Titans defense says no interceptions of Mariota doesn’t mean it isn’t playing well. “We are doing good; you watch the film and we are in a perfect position a lot of times,’’ linebacker Zach Brown told Jim Wyatt of the team’s web site. “Some of the throws we are like, “Man, did he really just place it there? I take my hat off to him -- he is a smart kid. He hasn’t thrown one to us. We are still trying to get him. We have to get him.”
Deeez_Nuuutz
I get the feel that Mariota may just be that accurate with the football...Im sure our secondary is tired of hearing the "No interceptions"shit and how "They suck"is why Mariota isnt getting picked. If i had to guess id say there trying there ass off to get him,it will happen eventually.Hell i wish they go ahead and just throw one to the secondary so everybody could shut the hell up about it. Now I'm just hoping to continue being wrong, and Mariota becomes the second coming of Steve Young.
begooode
Peter King finally gets his Mariota blurb in his MMQB column: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/08/09/andrew-luck-indianapolis-colts-nfl-frank-gifford-hard-knocks This Mariota guy’s pretty precocious. ,... In Nashville the other day, I watched rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota in a team drill do something veteran quarterbacks do in training camp. Inside the 10-yard line, from the shotgun, he barked out, “Delta! Delta!” He took a snap and looked left, to a crossing Kendall Wright, closely covered by cornerback Perrish Cox, then quickly scanned to the right, holding cornerback Jason McCourty on his man, and keeping the safety in the middle of the field. “A veteran move,” McCourty said. Then Mariota quickly locked back onto Wright and fired a strike to the outside corner—where Wright could catch the ball but Cox couldn’t reach. Touchdown. I noticed this in my day at the Titans: People are consciously trying not to get too excited about Mariota. But he has been pretty good,...

TitanDuckFan
You guys are hyping up any and everything. Actually, it's the sportswriters that are doing the hyping. Fans are just reading/listening and getting excited, which means the writers are doing their jobs. The industry (because that's what it is) depends on it. BTW, has anyone seen/heard Skip Bayless comment on this at all?
titanruss
none of this is true unless @bergerking gets to see it with his own eyes.
MIKE75
You guys are hyping up any and everything. Not really. Sure there is hype BUT as more and more national media and reporters take notice it is being confirmed from pretty much anyone watching that Mariota is very poised and looking like the real deal so far. They say he is looking like a vet not a rookie. I knew early on when Whitehurst said Mariota was the first rookie QB he'd ever seen come in and not ask any questions, not make any mistakes when they started OTA's. Then you had Kuharsky who doesn't say much positive ever about Titans and when he was correcting a reporter recently who was saying negative things about Mariota then Kuharsky pretty much let the reporter know that Mariota looked really good and the team has a keeper. Kuharsky praised Mariota so when he did i knew that Mariota was looking great because Kuharsky,Rappoport,Kurt Warner,Peter King, etc. were all saying so as well. I think the only thing that could stand in Mariota's way would be the possibility of injury other than that i have no doubt the guy is gonna raise the profile of the team and have them playing better. One thing i like that i've heard is there is a big difference this year and last year in the building because now there is hope. There is more energy in the practices, training camp is more lively because the team knows they now have a chance. Before it was almost like fighting with one arm tied behind their back because of the lack of a decent QB. The way Mariota carries himself and believes has spread to the others on the team also. freakingeek
You guys are hyping up any and everything. I just cut and paste. You guys can make your own judgments. I know he'll have his struggles but you have to be happy about his progress and where he is right now. It exceeds anything I expected and the good word is coming from several unbiased sources. When was the last time the national sports media had ANYTHING good to say about this team? It's nice to be more worried about our RT and our secondary than our QB for a change. MIKE75
I'm excited for the first time in years possibly 2008. I already followed CJ from watching him play against Memphis in college so when that draft pick was announced i was very excited because i knew the offense now had a weapon for VY and of course the defense was already dominant and we knew Big Al was gonna have another great year along with KVB. After Fisher left,Munchak was brought in and Locker was picked i was very hesitant to get excited and knew we were in uncharted waters. My hunch was proved correct that we were on the wrong path then. 2015 there is finally genuine hope. QB is the hardest thing to find once you accomplish that the rest is not near as hard. Without a QB a team even with a good roster like TN in 2013 will fight to get around .500 or better. However for a long time we were in that 8-8 purgatory because of QB issues. I expect Buffalo,Cleveland,Houston,NY Jets, etc. to be some of those teams struggling because they have no true starter at QB. Teams that do have a good franchise QB are pretty much guaranteed to be in contention each year if they have a decent roster. San Diego is at least 9-7 each year due to Rivers. Seattle has contended each year since they picked Wilson. Carolina is in the hunt each year with Newton. Pittsburgh contends each year with Roethlisberger. Baltimore has been in the mix each season with Flacco. Aaron Rodgers has Green Bay winning each year. Indy with Luck. NY with Manning. The last couple years both Arizona and K.C. bounced back from losing records to win again once they found Palmer and Smith. Before having roster issues Atlanta were very close to making the Super Bowl with Matt Ryan. New Orleans contends yearly with Brees. Dallas are still in the mix every year with Romo. The Detroit Lions are a good example of a team that was a mess that got better when they found a QB Matt Stafford. All these are examples.
