Lakers

Kobe would be insanely lucky to have one good year left. I don't see what signing Wade would accomplish. Even if LA got one of those three, they wouldn't be ready to compete in the STACKED West.

More likely than not the Lakers are heading for a rebuild. And that's okay--that's good for them. As a Lakers fan, your best hope for next is to get boatraced early in the playoffs by GS or the like so the rebuild is probably best for you.

Honestly, at this point Kobe would be best served with a Popovich/Kerr/ Carlisle type who can manage his minutes accordingly that'll ensure that he can last the entire season but since he has Byron Scott who is a Kobe appeaser that won't happen.

Wade is opting out according to the rumors.  I think he's in a bind.  The teams with cap space to pay him what he wants are losing teams with no hope of winning a title next year.  Contenders only have the MLE to offer him, so I think he eventually goes back to the Heat.

Suns are looking into trading Eric Bledsoe after resigning Brandon Knight.  The Suns are weird as they seem to like to just pick up multiple PG's to place on their roster.

I love the NBA offseason this type of year.  It's condensed into one short period (late June-first 2-3 weeks of July) so that makes it much easier to track all the moves unlike the NFL or MLB.

Oh, and I should have really split that long response into two parts but Kyle was so full of shit in that post, I couldn't resist taking down most of his points.

Here's another one. Everyone thinks that Kobe is really smart because he can speak Spanish and Italian fluently. That's a typical American viewpoint.

He grew up in Italy where everyone speaks at least 2 or 3 languages. Just because someone speaks more than one language doesn't mean they're smart.

Love is staying with Cleveland.  Reports are Aldridge was not impressed with the Lakers, and will most likely go to the Spurs, who tradded Splitter to free up cap money.

Lakers will again be bad next year, and lose their 1st rd pick if it is not one of the top three.

It's why you can't let FA dictate what you do in the draft. Works different in the NBA with FA coming after the draft instead of before like the NFL. Not saying that's what the Lakers did, but people speculated part of the reason the Lakers opted for Russell instead of Okafor is because FA had a lot of big men and not PG. Now it looks like they will strike out on big men unless a Cousins trade happens

But Little Earl, kyle is convinced that everyone wants to play with Kobe.  How could those players turn down that opportunity?

Unless they land Monroe, there aren't really any decent big guys left in FA.  Tyson Chandler signed with the Suns today.

They have no assets on the roster to make that Cousins trade happen.  Even if you expand it to a three teamer, I have no idea what the Lakers have to offer that will even have Sacramento dealing Cousins to them.

I never bought that point about them luring a big man in FA.  Their roster sucks from a talent standpoint and the Lakers name and "brand" doesn't mean much if you've been at the bottom of the standings like they have been.  FA take that into consideration.  Well that and Bryant is a horrible salesperson at these types of meetings (see Dwight Howard FA meeting).

Their best bet at improving the roster right now is some team trading for an overpriced contract from someone else.

LOL, I hope Kobe keeps on playing after next year.  The last few years have been COMEDY GOLD, with them being run like some sort of expansion team.

Honestly, why do the Lakers still trot him out to these meetings after he screwed up that Dwight Howard one?

Yeah I got it handed to me pretty good

ill never waver in my thoughts about Kobe. To me and many others he is above LBJ

its alright everyone has their viewpoint. I like that stat about not hitting a game winner since march 2012. I wonder if he forgot to post how he's only played in 16 something games since end of that season.

Looks like Aldridge and Love won't be coming to LA. I'm a Laker fan for life and want Kobe to retire a Laker but I will admit I am bothered ppl aren't wanting to sign bc he's rubbing them wrong.

Part of me does want Kobe to go to a contender and allow LA to bring in a Butler and Aldridge duo with that $ but the other part of me can wait til next year just to have one last season with 8

When Kobe is gone LA will get all the big FA like they used too

Durant or Westbrook next year would be dope

i agree Kobe needs to shit it down in these meetings and actually recruit not repel

he chased off some last year and it's looking like that again.

That shit with Howard though? Fuck Howard. He needs to grow up and take advantage of his gifts and not goof around

Durant is not going to happen. Lakers are heading to a hard rebuild. It's fine, it happens. Why play hamper the development of your brand new pick?

Did you see the trade the Sixers just made?   They got Stauskas and two other players, 2018 1st rounder, and the rights to swap '16 and '17 1st round picks, all for two second round scrubs (basically taking on salary).   They already have a probable four 1st round picks next year.   They currently have the triple towers, so eventually one will have to be traded.   I think they will be a force in a couple years.
