Say Mett does stay with the Titans and MM does decent things.  That is some good depth there at the QB spot with MM, Mett, and Whitehurst.  No?

Along these lines, what I am expecting happens is that Lewan is vocally against Mariota at some point.  If I have Lewan's personalty pegged correctly (loud frat boy type who enjoys poking fun at others), I do not think he will like a quiet and reserved Mariota, especially since he is very good friends with Mettenberger.  Unless Mariota is noticeably better than Mettenberger, I think Lewan will be vocally against Mariota at some point - I really think Lewan is not going to like him from the start.

I think he would make them instant playoff team... They are a QB away, and he would command that team...

If Buffalo offered a 3rd I would take it...

We dont need a guy who is pissed off, and doesnt want to be here on the team... I completely understand why Mett is pissed, and I would too...

Let him go to a team where he can be the guy, and develop into a franchise QB there... We shouldn't hold him back

Ah Wyatt?  There will be no competition.  That means, calming down will not result in being allowed to compete.  Literally the point of sports.

 

 

Mettenberger would be wise to be calm.  The odds are probably greater than 80% that Whitehurst, Mettenberger, and Mariota all play this season at some point - Whisenhunt probably already has three styles of underwear to wear a different one when he starts each one. During his turn, Mettenberger can let his play speak for him.  

 

This time next year, we should have seen games from all of them allowing everyone to equally compare and contrast them.

I'm a fan of Mettenberger and was happy we we're able to draft him when we did. I thought he had 2nd, 3rd round talent and thought it was a steal to get him in the 6th round.

That being said, he needs to STFU and be a backup or he'll fuck himself out of even the small possibility of a starting job and hate himself for the next 10 years.

Remember when i said as soon as Mariota was drafted that Mett would demand a trade and i forgot exactly who it was here that said that would never happen and that Mett hasn't done anything to demand it......Well it looks like i was right.

 

Mett will be a starter somewhere and a good one too.
