IowaOiler
Only when connected to people saying Locker didn't play bad or only had a few bad passes There isn't a single poster on this board that has said Locker didn't play pathetically agains the Cowboys. There are plenty that have been labeled a homer.
bondra316v2
not to be a board nazi or anything but did we really need another poll on this topic? Can we do another poll next week? Just for the sake of consistency. If he plays like he did week 1, will the 3:1 ratio reverse? Inquiring minds. For the record, I like Jake. I want him to do well. I want him to earn a 2nd contract for big $$$. Unfortunately, what I want, and what Jake has shown to be capable of are different. That being said, I don't know that Mett is the answer. If Mett starts week 3 and flames out spectacularly, what do the Titans do? Put Jake back in? Clipboard Jesus? Will there be more fans at a TSU game than a Titans game by week 10? That's the dilemma. Looking ahead even further, would this team be bad enough to be in position to select Mariota? Is Mariota even a Whiz style QB? Fuck it. Start Mett. Edit - 5:1 ratio now
MamlngEnvy
Bring on the Mett Show ! Is that the reality show he does Sundays cuz he got nothing better to do? I know I already told that one..but I liked it So much It might make a few more appearances

Edit - 5:1 ratio now Locker isn't getting benched any time soon unless he's so bad they have to bench him. And no one has said Mett is a sure thing. He's a prospect and we need to see what the Titans have in him, can he be a quality starter?
Come on Titans
...not time for Mettenbooger yet. It may be later in the year or next season...but not yet.
NashvilleNinja
not to be a board nazi or anything but did we really need another poll on this topic? There are never enough polls in the world. Always room for one more.
Omar
Locker has until the bye week in my mind...not that it means anything. I really saw his faults last week...he stares down receivers, his accuracy and ball placement are bad. Can he improve? I don't know, I have my doubts. I sure hope so, or maybe Whiz can scheme around it. Maybe we should do a poll at that point..half way throught the Titans season. I don't think this needs to be a week to week thing. OILERMAN
Neither. I'm not excited about either one. I'd like to see Mettenberger in real games to at least have some clue about him before going into the off season
MIKE75
When will this team ever get a decent pocket passing QB who can win consistently?
Mercalius
Debatable: Mettenberger looked better than Locker in the 2014 preseason. (I personally believe this to be true). Fact: Mettenberger looked much further along in his preseason debut compared to Locker's 2011, 2012, and 2013 preseasons combined. A lot of the Mettenberger hype stems from folks just being sick/burned out on Locker and the fanfare that always goes into hyping a backup. That being said, Zach is already showing things an NFL quarterback needs to show, much earlier, than Jake Locker ever has. He lacks the mobility. He lacks the experience. He may not be fully recovered from his ACL. He'll likely take an extra sack or twelve over the course of a season compared to a veteran. That being said, my curiosity was peaked over a month ago as he far outperformed most of the expectations placed upon him. The narrative was that he'd sit for a full year, learn behind Locker, and potentially compete next season. Instead, he goes out and throws 30 yard lasers and looks like he's been doing it for years and naturally riles up the fanbase because he's the closest thing to a natural passer we've seen in ages. There were some bad spots, but his ugly flashes were holding the football too long and taking unnecessary punishment in the pocket. Things that are generally correctable. Not sailing passes 5 yards over a receiver's head on a consistent basis and looking like dog circling a poop-spot when moving around in the pocket. Is he the answer? No clue. Is he intriguing? Absolutely. Would I start him right this second? Maybe not, but once I knew the knee was 100% healthy, it would be a much tougher decision
OILERMAN
They basically let him play almost the entire games in the preseason, if his knee was a real issue I don't think they would have
Mercalius
I got that vibe too, but you could see him limping a couple of times after he took a few hits. It was probably in the 90-95% fully healed range a month ago. He'd probably be good to go today if asked.
IsntLifeFunny
I don't need to see anything more from Jake. I said before the season I wanted him to succeed. But I'm done with him after that half. Tim Tebow put up better numbers against similar defenses. I don't care that he had an okay second half. It simply doesn't matter. He hasn't done nearly enough in the NFL to justify those types of numbers in year four. With that said, he isn't getting benched anytime soon.
