Face
This draft was supposed to accomplish at least one, preferably both, of the following objectives:find a QB and/or add players for the new defensive scheme such as an edge rusher, NT or 5 tech, or man corner. We did neither yesterday but that's OK, we just got our LT for the next decade. But now the 2nd round has fallen perfectly for us, the QB who we may have taken at 11 is still around along with Mettenberger & Garrapolo, though I strongly prefer Carr. On top of that, guys who would be mid 1st rounders in other years like Hageman, Nix, Jernigan, and Ealy are on the board. All would be beautiful fits in the new D. Even Attachou, a nice edge rusher, would work. I strongly prefer Carr right now, it's time to turn the page. But if they want to give Locker another year they need to add one of these defensive players. If they take a RB right now I will really question what Webster's plan is...between taking a guard at 10 & spending all these picks & signings on ILB's Id really wonder why he's using all these resources on the least important positions in modern football. Take a back in round 4-5, not now. Please. Let's see what happens.
TitansAB
They're going defense.
Stan
They're going dline
Pragidealist
Those are your objectives and not necessarily the team's. A good rb could fit the Steelers model that both whiz and Webster like
Pragidealist
They go bpa
JLocker10
Not many teams need RB. While we'd miss on the Hill, Hyde, and Mason wave I think a lot of those 2nd tier guys could fall into day 3 I'd pass myself. Take Jernigan or Carr imo
JLocker10
Webster himself said it was a deep RB class up until round 4-5 I bet a guy like Carey could slip into round 4. He'd be a good value pick
NashvilleNinja
So basically, this thread wasn't so much about not drafting a RB in the 2nd as it was about drafting a QB in the 2nd. Nice bait n' switch.
freakingeek
DE/OLB, QB, CB, RB, WR are all positions of need. Take BPA unless Wiz is really sold on Carr. Trading up would require 2015 picks.

TitansAB
I'll guarantee defense.

Nice bait n' switch. Bait & switch? I said Id prefer Carr, but would be perfectly fine on D. I love Nix & Hageman. I'm a big Jeremy Hill fan but the bottom like is guys like Hageman & Nix are a helluva lot more rare than Hill or Hyde. It's even more rare a guy like Nix I sitting there at 42. Well, Nix was there... nearly into the 4th round, so obviously teams were scared of his knee. You still think the pick is a horrible mistake?
SuperFreak90
Don't think Nix and Hill was ever a option for us. Too many red flags. imo
kyle021
Runningback was the correct call in the 2nd As soon as we took Sankey all the top RB's went in the next 40 picks
