More important than the game itself. The real winners and losers are determined in between plays. Transcendent. Illuminating. Fascinating. These ads define America. They... are largely over-hyped.

Still, as you watch the game feel free to comment here with thoughts on the ads.

My favorite ad that won't be shown is below. If you've peeked in another thread you've already seen it and if you haven't peeked then you probably disagree with me and think the topic is stupid. Either way, I enjoy it.

I thought it was a bit of a long winded.  You had to wait until the end to find out that it's a commercial for the Redskins.  They also should have mixed in some football footage.

Did we ever find one native who actually gets offended by the name Redskins?

And if we did, did we laugh at him accordingly?

This is actually a good point. I was saying how I thought it was offensive to a Native American friend of mine and he basically told me he sees no issue with it. I asked another Native American coworker and she thought the same thing.

Also, I'm teaching classes that focus on Rhetorical Analysis. The day after the Super Bowl is my favorite day. We just go through the commercials for 50 minutes. So fun.

Most of the commercials during the last two SB's were not that good. Might have one really good one for every five it seems.

We're not turning the tv on until kick off time today. In fact, I've tried to avoid sports radio this week as much as possible. I just want to see the game.
