WG53
Didn't he say that after he retired? Something about calling a play that did not matchnthe formation iirc.
reo
That might've been it. CJ said something along the lines of how he tried to correct him and VY just told him to shut up and line up. It was vs the Steelers.. the play ended up in a sack fumble and CJ couldn't get over in time b/c VY had him lined up wrong or the protections wrong or something. titanruss
Mawae was great on draws and counters still though. He used his oft quoted "vet savvy" to get those blocks done. Yeah, in power runs and pass blocking he was weak. I remember him being serviceable on sweeps/screens but i'm pretty sure he was superior to amano in every regard. We miss him still in his line calls though.. unless locker makes them now which i really dont remember.
reo
Miss who on the line calls? Am I missing something? iirc he was talking about mawae
NashvilleNinja
I wonder how much of a curve it's going to be for Schwenke and Locker to get accustomed to each other.
OILERMAN
I think one of the main problems with Turner was the simple fact he couldn't consistently snap the ball cleanly to the QB and was getting worse. Forget getting beaten on blocks, you have to snap the ball before anything.
code
You mean soft floaters, line drives at the knees, and wafflers that could go left or right on any given play AREN"T the way a center is supposed to get their job done?

Code, Munch/Bruce call those the change-up, slider and knuckleball. Keeps the batter on his toes. Get with the plan.

Bobo
I thought he looked good too. I'll rewatch the game and get a better look, but he wasn't stand out bad like Turner has been.
reo
He had a key block on Willis on CJ's TD.
WVTITAN
I'm interested to see how he grades out according to PFF. My guess is OK, not good not bad. He missed a couple off blocks that were passed off to him, but I didn't see him constantly getting overpowered. He may not grade out well today but from what I saw his issues are correctable.
