  1. To add to this, Sweat had those issues coming into the league and the Titans thought that he could be coached up and out of that mindset, esp with Big Jeff in his ear, too. Sweat had some success and refused to change his approach. So the Titans had real experience to see that Sweat is not a team-guy and where this was likely headed -- poor work ethic and conditioning for +330lbs guys generally plays out poorly longer term, primarily in availability and even play effectiveness, if his head wasn't straight. With this kind of baggage, what could the Titans get for him? A fifth/sixth on draft day, maybe a 2027 fourth? All speculation, but at this point the Titans were making a scheme change as well and did okay; and I'm obviously hopeful that Saleh's guy will do well on his way to getting his next contract.
  2. I miss the days of Big Country David Stewart letting every Dlineman know it was going to be a long day. Lewan had some of that in him, but was equally focused on being a personality.
  3. Sure, just like every now and then you actually comment on the Titans, rather than another poster’s opinions.
  4. Roby was listed at 250, but was likely 2 biscuits away from 270 in that vid, imo
  5. I thought Kuharsky was a Cleveland guy, through and through
  6. If the Titans draft a guard, just let the guy stay and develop as a guard. Seems like teams eventually try to play many of these guys at center or tackle where they’re ineffective or struggle, and it’s just frustrating all the way around.
  7. Even at his age, Flacco’s arm strength is probably still above average. His slow ass feet, not so much.
  8. Williams was absolutely lost on the field, like he just started a stressful job and had zero training. Damn near the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. NFL career stats: 1 reception for 7 yards… he was on the team for 3 years!
  9. Counterpoint — after the top half of round 1, I think a “reach” really is taking a guy a full round or more versus a consensus draft position. Anything within a half round is reasonable and trying to get too precise is kinda pointless and implicitly suggests that trading up or down those 15 slots is readily possible. I just don’t think NFL personnel guys are trying to get too cute with it once they have decided who to select within a cluster of players. “stick and pick” At least one exception to this blurb on reaches — when there’s a draft day run on a position, like WR. I will never get over believing (coping) the BS spin on the Paul Williams selection all those years ago.
  10. I think this is a bit too short sighted, especially for the #4 overall. So few players from previous drafts made it to their second contract is a primary reason how the Titans arrived at their 2025 talent gap. The Titans need high end play for 7-8 years from the #4 slot or worthwhile compensation, imo. If anything the hypothetical second contract for Love won’t even have as dramatic of an increase as he would already be making top 10 RB money
  11. A coordinated effort to ensure a draft prospect gets potentially much less guaranteed money and the draft pick is in on it? I’m highly suspect of that conclusion.
  12. Wyatt was one of the smart journalists, finding a landing spot before the implosion of traditional sports media. If he has to serve up some chum for the team every now and then, I totally get it.
  13. Waiting to hear the terms of the incoming protest trade from @Supernope before I commit…
  14. Another video making a strong case for Love.
  15. I'm becoming more intrigued with the Titans' second round pick. Assuming Tate doesn't end up coming in the 1st round, do you anticipate an interior OLineman or a WR?
  16. Agreed. Unless they are wowed by who falls to them on draft day, the Titans' current talent level almost necessitates taking a reasonable offer of more high picks, if one comes available. This is amplified by the recent FA contract structures which involves decisions at several positions that maybe better served with a cheaper draft pick.
  17. After watching the vids above, this one quickly popped up in the YT feed
  18. Femi has great length, and looks like a decent to good run defender on the edge who will get his share of hustle sacks. However, he doesn’t have that hair-on-fire close to the QB or the moves to get him there regularly against good tackles. His rookie year development was stunted by injuries, so we’re not likely to know what he’s capable of until the 2027 season unfortunately.
  19. Is the Miami OTackle worthy of #3? I saw that AZ might be leaning towards an edge player even more so with the trade request from Josh Sweat? Im trying to get an understanding of how likely AZ is to trade out.
  20. nah, you’re too committed to your narrative to recognize your bias on last season’s coaching. You’ve already fooled yourself, but I’m not prepared to derail another thread rehashing Callacrap getting himself fired.
  21. imo, Corey Davis turned out to be just a guy, because on the field he was a very linear, kinda limited athlete regarding his ability to change directions, balance/body control, and making any sort of contested catches. 6 games into AJs rookie season the difference between their respective abilities was night and day.
  22. wow, I would have bet money that Lamb was a 4.4 guy, but you’re right. Hmmmm… I hope Tate is a full participant in OSU’s upcoming pro day
  23. The Titans’ offense was already better than that post Callahan, and Daboll better not have them going in reverse once they’ve grasped the new scheme.
  24. Regardless of where he lands, if Tate blows up we’ll never hear the end of it from you guys
  25. The gap analysis has been around for over a generation — looking at the game tape production — and eloquently summed up by og draft nerd Joel Buschbaum: Looks like Tarzan, Plays like Jane
