  1. Stover could be a problematic pick by the Texans. OSU has like 4 NFL receivers on its roster every year, so a TE who justifies taking a decent number of targets away from them is legit.
  2. Saban was asked why the team never tried him at LT, despite having issues at the position Doesn't sound like it was ever a consideration. Nor did he think it was a good idea.
  3. I'd love to be surprised, but it's very likely that any expectation of him being an LT is going to be memory-holed rather quickly. And he just ends up being a good RT instead.
  4. Odds are low enough that these players will be successful at the position they played in college. Trying to project them at a much more difficult one isn't realistic or fair
  5. Levis has obviously been the exception. But overall, The positional value has been piss poor with Carthon's early picks, especially given the limited resources.
  6. Titans will just draft some other low value bullshit position. No need to get excited for the next pick.
  7. When you have the opportunity to draft a paraplegic CB, you just have to take it.
  8. He could definitely have a similar rookie year to Nacua in SF
  9. PFF isn't perfect by any means, but most of the recently successful tackles performed at an elite level in college per their metrics Here are the best NFL tackles drafted in the past few years, along with their collegiate PFF grades: Andrew Thomas- 92.7 Christian Darrisaw- 95.6 Rashawn Slater - 90.0 Pass-blocking Penei Sewell- 91.1 Pass blocking, 95.3 run blocking Tristan Wirfs-92.3 JC Latham - 81.9 Worth noting that AL alumni Evan Neal , while lacking an elite grade, was graded more highly at LT than Latham did at RT. And Neal has transitioned into being one of the worst RTs in the NFL.
  10. Let's be honest ... He's being overhyped and given an underdog label as a CB because of his race. Everyone knows he'll be awesome at whatever he will be asked to do in the NFL... Which most certainly won't include being on an island vs great WRs all game long. Few CBs can handle that task anyway.
  11. Yeah I know, which is why I made that comment. I thought it was strange that Iowa liked that post. Maybe it was poorly worded?
  12. The only good things Atlanta have done this off-season are fire Smith and sign cousins, and those are almost completely negated by the HC hire and Top 10 pick. They fumbled the bag.
  13. There's absolutely no way this guy will be able to handle man coverage vs WR1s
  14. Even I had to back out of this thread like 400 pages ago.
  15. I think the OL is such a mess that they needed a hit, just like last year with Skoronski. Despite the hype, I didn't love this OL class. Of all the prospects, Latham seemed to have the highest floor to me. But I never imagined him being penciled in as a LT, nor saw anyone suggest that he should prior to yesterday.
  16. His PFF college grade is virtually the same as Isaiah Wilson.
  17. The odds of a RT who wasn't dominant in college becoming a good NFL LT are extremely low. Someone pointed out that Wirfs successfully made the transition, but he was a better collegiate player, had LT experience in college, and is an elite athlete. In general, the bar is so high that even many great collegiate LTs have to switch to RT, or even guard (as we've clearly seen).
  18. Given how much the 49ers value LBs with speed- who Carthon has also shown that he favors - I suspect that he'll be high on Cooper. Carthon hasn't drafted a single defensive player since joining the Titans. That pretty much has to change today.
  19. That particular post was about the very real possibility that we spend consecutive top picks on OL while still having no LT, and how that should enrage people more than this unlikely scenario of a TE at 7 which sparked 468 pages of arguments.
  20. How many college RTs have successfully transitioned to LT in the NFL? The best RTs were LTs in college..
  21. He must have disguised himself as a pornbot to get reinstated
