  1. We should have been seeing from game 1 if Stingily could handle RT. As bad as Levitre was, they probably could have used him there (and I wonder if we'd be better off with trying him there next year and trying to go with Roos or someone else at RT). Oh well. Maybe the remaining games will be enough to get a clearer picture for the OL, and it's obvious Tommy is giving the ok to shake things up.
  2. I know I've seen McPhee line up not as a traditional 3-4 OLB in the past, I was surprised he was listed as an OLB. I think he could be used as a down lineman more, and Hali as OLB. I really want to load up on young talent, and I'm not sure how much Hali has left. If he's likely to be another Shawn Phillips, pass.
  3. I thought McPhee was a good prospect coming out of college. I wonder how he'd look compared to Klug and Martin (who still hasn't stepped it up).
  4. I've always liked the dual threat QB's, and this is the modern day example to go by. I'm jealous.
  5. 5 of 31 3rd down attempts...I laughed when I read that because anger or frustration just aren't fitting for the 2014 Titans.
  6. Victim of his own foolishness? But seriously, he sucks.
  7. Getting a good ILB should be a priority, although I'm a bit worried there's not a lot of good options available in both free agency and the draft. As far as where the guys line up in the base D, we've heard this D described as attacking, and not a traditional 2 gap. Superhorn on Music City Miracles showed a base D against a 2 WR set that had all 3 DL (lined up as a 3, a 1, and a 9) stunting to gaps to the right of where they were lined up, which allowed the weakside ILB to blitz freely (one OL got completely turned around and seemed to have no idea what to do). I don't know the down and distance, or if this was considered a run blitz, but it didn't look like as DL was being asked to 2 gap. So it seems the base D and sub packages can use both Casey and Donald at the same time. On top of that, simply rotating guys could give them both plenty of snaps.
  8. Besides how we think we may line up in the "base defense", Horton has a formation that looked like only 2 DL, both looked lined up as 3 technique, and 4 or even 5 LB. Casey and Donald could both be on the field at the same time there. Of course there is the typical 4 man nickle front which favors pass rushing DL, Casey and Donald side by side again. I'd love to see what else Horton can scheme up that could use attacking DL.
  9. I get afraid when we sign FA's to fairly large contracts that it will discourage us from drafting at those positions. I'm all for mostly building through the draft and signing your best to long term contracts. I'm curious to see how things turn out with Tommie boy. Was last year's big spending more about desperation with an aging owner?
  10. I'm all for drafting him. Horton's defense seems perfect for versatile players.
  11. Ayers did get some pressure...and looked bad in coverage. How will they use him with Griffin out this week? Same crap D we saw against the Jags when Griffin was out? Will Foku's presence factor in?
  12. The way Munch/Ruston have built this team is not working, and doesn't look like it'll work itself into a consistent winner. Inconsistent QB, speed back for a power run built offense, bad O coordinator choices, tons spent on OL and receiving options that haven't paid off. I admit I try to drink the koolaid and see the bright side to most of these things in the beginning, but when they give you serious doubts as well early on, it feels totally unshocking to be where we currently are. Feels right at home.
  13. Nice article. With Bud gone, I wonder what kinda pressure Munch will feel? I'm not real upset with the pace at which changes have been made so far. I can see how maybe Munch and co. wanted to get a decent enough look at some things before making moves. It's a shame things like penalties and dropped passes stunt what progress we think we may be seeing. We'll have the rest of the season to cheer or bitch about how it's all managed, but the guy who used to manage it all being gone could be a monkey wrench thrown in.
  14. Code I'm with ya on the officiating. The block in the back call on Britt was laughable. Hunter should have drawn a PI call in the endzone when his arms were held down before the ball got there. Right after that, CJ runs for 5 up the middleb and Levitre gets called for holding...the type of guy who sees holding on that play is the type of guy who swears he's seen ghosts. This is too much BS for a professional officiating crew.
