I don't care what the experts say.  They get it wrong all the time.  The Titans needed a short yardage back that could share the load with CJ.  If they feel like Greene is their guy I can get behind it.  Greene is one of those guys who could look much better in a new system under new coaching with a guy like CJ being schemed against instead of him.  The Titans desperately needed to get more consistent on third down and if Greene helps them do that then they got a bargain.  I personally didn't think he would get that much but it's all based on value to the team as has been discussed on this board ad naseum.

Put me on the bandwagon that is super excited the Titans have been so proactive in FA.

I don't think we'll know how much Munchak really emphasizes the run until the Titans become competitive.

If he's still running the ball and dinking and dunking it like Fisher used to do in 99/00/02 when they're competitive, then we'll know that Munchak is like Fisher.

I still feel like Munchak wants the Titans to be more of a passing team than a running team and these signings were made to help ease Locker into becoming the QB that they hope that he can be.

The moves very much seem like they want to go to a run heavy offense w/ a mix of 2 TEs and 3 wides. They want the TEs and the slot guy to be consistent check down targets for Locker where he'll have a lot of very quick high/low reads. Look deep and check it down quickly if it's not there.

Wright will start and play almost every down. The only question is who will start opposite him in their 2 TE set. Ideally it's Britt and then they have the slot guy come in as the safety valve on 3 wide sets and Walker being the safety valve on 2 TE sets w/ Britt working deep and Wright working medium.

It'll be a skuwed comparison by any measure in CJ's favour mostly because in Greene's case he is often used in short yardage situations and defenses are geared up for it.

Greene succeed on those in large part.  It could skew the ypc, but not the count of negative rushes.

If anything, given CJ's inability on short yardage compared to Greene, it would actually skew the opposite direction.  CJ ran for negative yards on four 3rd or 4th down attempts with either one or two yards to go.  Based on the numbers I've seen quoted, Greene was almost perfect on those types of runs.

Johnson had 13 attempts on either 3rd or 4th down with one ot two yards to go.  He gained 56 yards, converting nine of them.

if you drop it to just one yard to go, he had nine attempts, gained 38 yards converting six times.

Greene was the starter last year and had 276 carries exactly like CJ
