NashvilleNinja
I made a trade that I'm going back and forth on. It's done, so it's water under the bridge, but I'm torn. I gave up Stafford and AJ Green for RG3 and Reggie Wayne. I'm prob. just having buyer's remorse, but I just wanted to get people's takes on here. I know Nines likes the trade since he's the one I traded with, but I'm interested in other's opinions on the trade. Who got the better end of the deal? Or was it a fairly even trade? Which roster did the move help/hurt more? === My Roster After Trade: QB - Robert Griffin, Andy Dalton, Jake Locker RB - Darren McFadden, David Wilson, Donald Brown WR - Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne, DeSean Jackson, Josh Gordon, Andre Roberts TE - Antonio Gates, Dennis Pitta === Nines Roster After Trade QB - Matthew Stafford, Phillip Rivers RB - Ryan Matthews, Daryl Richardson, Alex Green WR - AJ Green, Wes Welker, Larry Fitzgerald, Jeremy Kerley, Titus Young TE - Rob Gronkowski, Brandon Myers
Titansfan920
Ouch....that one stings. I like me some RG3 in fantasy but not enough to give up AJ. Stafford can still turn it around this season. I don't like the trade personally.
wiscotitansfan
I was offered RG3 and Willis McGahee for Stafford and Rice. (I only say this because I have Green and would not have done the trade with Green). I didn't do it with Rice either because I don't feel RG3 is worth the upgrade the rest of the season going forward. Stafford has some nice matchups, if he can't get it done against an easier team though, you came out ahead (maybe).
Jamalisms
Depends on if we really do a keeper league and how many players we get to keep.
Dmeade-
I like it NN. RG3 has been getting like 30 points a game and Reggie Wayne has had a really nice season thus far.

Stafford can still turn it around this season. I don't like the trade personally. I understand. I hated giving up Green myself, and I'm nervous about Griffin both staying healthy and also with him keeping up the production. But in the end all of fantasy football is a gamble. AJ Green could just as easily tear an ACL or pop his achilles as anyone else. Defenses could also start to game plan him more effectively, taking him more out of the round. If RG3 can keep going, even with a small drop off, I can still keep my team's pace with Wayne filling in at the #2 spot. I've also still got Brandon Marshall, so... there's that. heyitsmeallen
decent trade. If stafford turns around the season it could bite you.. but like DMEADE said RG3 is killing it so far.
wiscotitansfan
Exactly, I don't think RG3 or AJ Green will be the ones that make you kick yourself by the end of the season. I think it all depends on if Stafford turns it on or not to truly decide this trade, which is funny because he is the least reliable guy out of the 4 so far. He's still been scoring 20-something points a game in our league. I've just been starting Andy Dalton over him because Dalton has been performing better. N/A
You seemed like you had remorse, so I offered to reverse it if you like in a private message. Now you propose a rule change that will weaken the trade for me and strengthen it for you. What a way to run a league................ What I mean. I have a pretty good team this year, it has a decent chance but I accept a trade you propose that likely slightly weakens my team this year but it gives me two viable keepers for one single better one so I liked it. Then you show remorse about the trade, in this thread, and then you propose/push a league-wide rule change that would lower the # of keepers to only 2, which makes the whole trade, from my side, worthless to me - no it is worse than worthless because it hurts my this year, which I was willing to do to strengthen my team in future years but your rules change makes it not help me in the future either because limited keepers from 3 to 2, would make me only keep AJ Green, because I would keep my TE over Stafford. But you get to keep RG3, perhaps the top player going forward as a keeper (again something I was willing to give up, to get two keepers for him.) Wow, don't like a trade, as anyone reading this thread can tell you did not (even though you proposed it), well just find a way as commissioner to help yourself on it - change the rules structurally to make it work out for you. What you did reminds me of how local Mexican officials used to sell land. They had development rules, that if a land owner did not develop a plot of land in something like 3 years, the land goes back to the local government. They would then sell land to foreigners in good faith, with the foreigners paying a fair price and having plans to develop the land. The Mexican officials would then, after the transactions (just as you did right after our trade), tell the new land owner, that he needs permits to develop the land and guess what the permits cost 3 times what the land did, making the Mexican officials initial land sale basically a theft by them, just as you the proposer of the trade make my end of the trade worthless in less than 24 hours by power of being the commissioner. You are the local Mexican official land seller of fantasy football.
CMJ
LOL Classic nines. Mexican land seller. Hahaha Truthfully, Nines has a case. We should just stick with three keepers.
Dmeade-
You can't make rule changes in the middle of the season. It's just bad practice, regardless of you alls trade. Now go to my thread and pick two starters please.
N/A
I tried to rejoin the league after thinking about it, and he kicked me out and reset the password. Again he PROPOSED the trade to me. Then after I accept, he starts this thread showing he was remorseful about the trade. Then he makes a rule change that hurts me in the trade. I admit at first I overreacted, and I left the league but then 20 minutes later I rejoined it with feelings that I would just live with these rule changes and a commissioner who makes a trade he regret and changes rules that play on it. In a jovial fashion, I changed the team name to Hammer, after rejoining, and my named from 54321 to John_Hampton to play a joke making others think a stranger joined and he kicks me. At first, I thought, he did it really thinking I was a stranger joining the league (I posted a message on the league site as John_Hampton saying "Hi, I saw this league had an opening and joined" again just playing a joke in that stranger style..........) But to clarify, I sent a private message saying, even though I drastically object to his rule change right after our trade, I do want to take the challenge to keep managing my team this year and future seasons but he will not let me. Instead he makes that structural rule change proposal.
