Re-watching all Locker's 2011 throws tonight, will tweet thoughts. Loved him last yr. Rifle arm, blazing wheels. Reminded of young McNabb. Re-watching Wk 11 Titans @ Falcons. No zip on Hasselbeck throws. ATL D getting hands on way too many balls. Hass like late-career Brunell. Hasselbeck's late-season fade no surprise. Dude is 36. Had nothing left down stretch. Will happen earlier this year (if he lasts that long). As unimpressive a thrower as Hasselbeck has become, still so cool in pocket. Stands in, hangs tough with D-players all around him, deals. Locker's ball placement erratic. But playmaker outside pocket. Aggressive vs ATL, loved challenging deep. Not out there taking checkdowns. And when he gets outside the pocket, he's a threat for long runs. Crazy fast & fairly elusive. And fires off bullets. Locker played most extensively vs Saints. Watching that one now. Entered early 2nd quarter, NO up 3-0. Not playing catch up so much here. Locker throws to Stevens (32 yds) & Washington (40yd TD) were sensational. Down-to-down accuracy shaky, can make it hard to sustain drives. I'll stand by young McNabb as Locker comp. Playmaker. Big-armed athlete. I think he's poised in pocket. Erratic accuracy. titansfan Posted June 7, 2012 Report Share Posted June 7, 2012 That is verbatim the exact scouting report I had on Locker last year during the draft. Young McNabb, not going to kill you by deciphering your defense, athletic playmaker, and beats you by creating the play himself. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasselbeck outshines him in practice. But I personally believe that the Titans stand to be much better if Locker is actually playing in the games. Don't take this the wrong way, but he's Tebow-lite. Probably won't impress you as a passing QB in practice, but in the game he will make plays because of the other dynamics of his game. McNabb is the perfect comparison and the exact one I gave him when he was drafted. But, for him to succeed, we better design plays around his ability. Expecting him to be Manning, Rodgers, Brady, or even Ryan is a recipe for disaster and he will disappoint if that is the case. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was simply comparing their situations where they may not be the best looking in practice but play much better in games. But he did miss too often and a lot of his success was when the team was in catch up mold.
