Maybe, but they got their audience so it mostly worked out for them despite fans being displeased with the final seasons. I will say that someone (Showtime maybe?) tried to develop a Kingkiller Chronicle show with Lin Manuel Miranda and that ended because Pat Rothfuss has also spent the last decade failing to publish the 3rd book of what’s supposed to be a trilogy. I really missed the greenhouses (glass gardens) from the show but I understand all the changes they made. If the original Song of Ice & Fire is ever remade in animation or CGI, I hope they take this video into account. Reading the books, I was surprised at how I was affected with Theon put Winterfell "to the torch" and left it in ruins.
