Jamalisms
The real reason I used "the real reason" in the tread title shouldn't really be surprising.
TitansWycheck89
I'll throw in a twist: What is really going on here?
Jamalisms
Edited: Three things: He's making fluff statements about how great we're gonna be. He's making excuses (reasons) for CJ and everyone else last year. He could very well be setting up a situation where CJ has no excuses next year, whether intentional or not. OILERMAN
I was wondering if they were ever going to comment on the fact they did absolutely nothing to "improve the running game". At the end of the season Webster said their #1 goal was to fix the running game and they were going to get younger on the OL. The added a pass blocking guard who was 4 or 5 years older than Scott. They didn't draft a single OL and it looks like they may scrap the FB position. They even kept their same back-up OL in Otto and Velasco. Pretty easy to explain, any improvements will come from CJ, last year's main culprit.
NashvilleNinja
Pretty easy to explain, any improvements will come from CJ, last year's main culprit. Way to be telegraphically proactive. You're not just arguing your current talking point, you're also arguing December's talking point before September-November have even happened yet. Tell me, man... if I jump off a bridge will I go splat?
Oiler FANatic
Actually CJ already improved his production before hurting his ankle late in the year, then limped his way to 1000 yards. In the first 7 games he had just 302 yards, averaging a mere 2.8 ypc, while working his way into game shape. But over the next 5 weeks he had a league-high 450 yards, averaging 4.5 ypc, with only 1 bad game against Atlanta.
OILERMAN
You're not just arguing your current talking point, you're also arguing December's talking point before September-November have even happened yet. Tell me, man... if I jump off a bridge will I go splat? Uh no, I'm talking about Webster's comments about improving the running game and getting the OL younger being nothing but talk. Webster's comments happened after the season, the off season improvements just finished and Webster didn't do anything he talked about. What does that have to do with this up coming fall? Nothing. Your comments don't even make sense, which is pretty typical.
OILERMAN
Again OMan omits the fact Ringer and Harper had little running room so obviously it is more than CJ. I never bring up Harper because that's ridiculous, he was a 4th rounder who barely had any carries. In the one game Ringer had equal carries with CJ he embarrassed CJ and doubled his production. We can talk about that all day long. Ringer averaged 4.3yds per carry vs CJ's 2.4yds per carry on 14 carries each.
ctm
The Titans ended the 2010 season at 1-8. The previous staff left the team in a deep hole. They aren't a complete team yet. In other news.....
