East/West Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl Discussion

The pre-draft process really ramps up this weekend with the commencement of the East/West Shrine practices on Saturday and the Senior Bowl practices on Tuesday.

Below are a couple of videos with East/West Director Eric Galko and Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy talking through some guys to watch.

Specifically on the Senior Bowl these rosters are absolutely stacked with top 100 prospects.

Was interesting hearing Brugler/Nagy discuss the possibility of Oklahoma OT Tyler Guyton being the highest drafted player that participates in the Senior Bowl and he could have a higher ceiling than both Alt/Fashanu.

I am definitely in the crew that thinks if you have Alt or Fashanu you shouldn’t overthink about it. Just draft them.

That being said, best case scenario would actually be some of these tier 2 guys like Morgan/Guyton/Suamataia making the staff confident in their ability and allowing us to trade down to acquire more picks.

Are there any potential sub 4.3 receivers in this draft?

We definitely need to get faster there, but I'm not sure it's a huge priority in this offense... or really all that necessary overall. There's plenty of top offenses that aren't blazing fast but scheme guys open well... most of the top offenses are on the bottom half of wr speed.

Also just dumping some loose weight and bringing in WRs with average speed will likely move us up on this chart significantly.

I also bet Nabors and MHJ run faster than expected.
