The net cost of the trade up was the net equivalent of 2/58 in terms of draft value.

Care to share that calc? I suspect you're not netting properly, likely only counting the difference but not the spend.

I'm assuming that's the cost of the trade up and omitts the original pick (#41).

I think probowl is a little too light of a metric as well as timing specific. These QBs could be littered with 1 year wonders, positional down years, injury fill-ins, etc.

When I say a top 10 QB, I mean a 5+ year run in that top 10 position.

Right. The difference but not the spend. We spent both the difference and #41. That's what Levis cost.

Depending on the chart, that's an early to mid 20s spend.

Sure and it's because of the pick swaps.....

On the pick swaps, 2/41 (490 points) to 2/33 (580) was a +90 point move.  3/72 (230) to 3/81 (185) was a +45 point move.

The 2024 3rd rounder is valued as a mid round pick, which ironically would be pick 3/81 (+185 points).

The net value of the trade up is 90+45+185 = 320 points, equivalent to pick 2/58.

They started with 905 points (490+230+185) and ended with 185 points (pick 3/81) and Levis.

They spent 720 points ... equivalent to pick 1/25.

I don't remember anyone thinking a trade up to 3 would be for anyone but Stroud.  Levis was always being discussed as a potential option for 11.

But a good portion of Levis hate was tied to wanting a scrub like Hooker instead.

I think a lot of Vols homers automatically assumed Hooker is better than Levis and so if Levis is a 2nd-3rd rounder, there is no way that Levis could be a first round talent.

You guys are saying the same thing. The trade up cost the equivalent of 2/58 meaning the overall pick when including 41 equates to pick 1/25.

2/58+2/41= 1/25.
