Those State fans were a sorry looking bunch after that first inning. but you have to hand it to them. They showed up en masse. It was great to see Leiter go out in style. I'd just as soon see Vandy send them packing tonight without any added drama but we shall see. The good thing is the bullpen is rested should we need them. But at least you walk in with a good shot with him on the mound. Not sure I've ever seen a poor (playoff) hitting, less clutch, less motivated-looking VU team in the CWS. We couldn't even hit when the starting pitcher for the Bulldogs wasn't having a great night. Bednar won't be as inconsistent. Rocker keeping it close is our only hope. freakingeek Posted July 2, 2021 Author Report Share Posted July 2, 2021 Miss. State was clearly the better team. Vandy looked uninspired. The Dawgs wanted it more so they deserved it. I'm embarrassed that Vandy didn't even put up a fight. It's taken me 24 ours to come and post because I was so disappointed, not in losing but the way we played.
