When asked about Melvin Ingram or adding more vet pass rush, Wyatt said: "I don't think the Titans are done adding edge rushers, I'll say that."

Also says he expect D. Evans to be more involved 2021. https://www.tennesseetitans.com/news/tuesday-mailbag-jim-wyatt-answers-questions-from-titans-fans-x9395

They could draft that Texas EDGE rusher Ossai.  They have met with him multiple times. Don’t know whether or not the Wyatt response is just talking about edge rushers in general or vet guys.

He was specifically asked about current available edge rushers, and there are plenty. The key part for me is "I'll just say that." In another mailbag, he said we were looking to add depth in the interior dline, suggesting it might be in the draft.

Just look at who's still out there:

DE: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/defensive-end/available/

OLB: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/outside-linebacker/available/

The available edge rushers aren't that exciting due to age.  I would take Ryan Kerrigan, considering they shown interest in him. Then draft a developmental guy later, because none of them are that enticing.

Kinda agree but it’s not good (draft wise) if you need a starter but there’s a fair amount of depth for developmental types and the Titans should be able to get a decent one in the mid rounds.

We have starters.  Jordan Smith in the 3rd will do nicely.  CB/WR in Rounds 1 and 2.

Only question is when they take the edge rusher.  I could see them waiting till round 4.  They might go TE and OT/OL in the third round.

I’d target James Hudson or D’Ante Smith in the 4th or later and Quinton Morris later.  There is only 1 ball and I wouldn’t make TE a priority if we can get a good outside and slot receiver.  I would definitely prioritize WR and slot before TE.  This should be an interesting draft.  I hope we can trade down and add an extra 3rd.  Then we could fill a lot of holes.

I agree that boundary/outside WR should be a top priority.  But I disagree with slot WR over TE, especially the dual threat tight end.  We don’t pass the ball enough to have the slot  WR to be a priority. With a TE, he can at least help out in the run game, since we run a LOT.  I do want us to come out of this draft with a burner type WR.  Teams end up sitting on the slants and middle breaking routes at times and the offense bogs down.

And yeah, trade down and pick up an extra top 100 pick would be great.

I want a slot receiver who can threaten the seam of the defense.  That will give Henry move to operate.  Don’t think we can wrong either way with the right players.

Like big slot Marlon Williams. Don't have to spend high draft capital to get a decent slot or #2 receiver. First round picks should be used to protect year 5 cap on linemen, corners, and edge rushers. Drafting a receiver before round 4 would be malpractice since we have RT, EDGE, and Corner needs. We also need to start developing a Center and Guard.

I get your argument about not spending a 1st on a WR but a Day 2 pick will definitely be spent on one. As I pointed out in another thread, only Diggs and Hill have really come out of Day 3 in recent history and gone on to be a top WR. You do have invest in the position. If you aren’t going to pay then you need to draft them.

C’mon man.  This is a passing league and you need playmakers.  Where would this offense be without AJ Brown?  Do you suggest the team should have passed on him? Would TB have won the SB without Evans and Godwin?  Didn’t NE just draft a WR in the first?  Either you drafting WR’s in the first or you looking to sign former first round picks in FA.   Your philosophy will lead to failure.  You ain’t winning with Justin Gage, Justin McCareins and Drew Bennett.

And by the way, I suggested a CB in the first and WR in the second.  We need more than one WR in this draft.  Stop the Tannehill nonsense.  He is a success because of the talent around him.

We failed last year because we couldn't cover and couldn't sack the QB. Losing Jonnu and Davis doesn't set us back that far. Like I've said before, we can find Davis level talent in later rounds. When an offense call walk down the field on every possession and literally convert every 3rd down, you ain't winning shit in the playoffs.
