McConnell floated a trail ballon a few weeks ago about voting to convict and purging Trump from the party and it was shot down right away. That being said it is good to get all this on the record. Can only hope we'll get 6 Republican votes, or 7/8 max in a best case scenario if anyone else is so compelled by the evidence/conscience (unlikely!).
