They still kicked our ass on third downs. We just got turnovers in the second half. Which is what Gower's thread really discusses anyway.

Their final drive is the perfect example of how our defense failed even in the second half. 16 plays basically 8 minutes and 4 third down conversions. We screwed the pooch and then got a interception in the end zone to give us a small chance again.

As usual, the true story is somewhere in between. We also forced a FG on their first drive of the 2nd half and forced them to punt twice. They had 1 long drive in the 2nd half and that was their last one.

We consistently got them to 3rd and medium/long. In the first half they converted them which isn't sustainable. In the 2nd half, we started stopping them except for the last drive. And even then the pick at the end was on 3rd and 12.

Twitter is a complete nightmare to read. What I got from that is that the Titans are very poor in all facets of defense other than turnovers. We're generating turnovers at a high rate so our defense's performance isn't as bad as it actually is. The main issue though is that our rate of turnovers isn't sustainable.

Am I on the right track here?

You also have to give the bad guys credit to. Big Ben has become a tremendous quick rhythm passer the last 5-6 years. He gets the ball out so quick.

Sadly he's the only one on the line putting up his hands. Don't they coach this anymore? I am still shocked Roth threw into the end zone when they could have gotten a FG and pretty much ended it.

I mean... it's not like he thought it'd be picked. They were on the 19 on 3rd and 12. Getting a little closer doesn't do much and they probably weren't getting a 1st down. So he took a shot.

When your defense is consistently getting the opponent to 3rd and long, you have to think they're doing something right. 3rd and long is a very low percentage conversion. The Steelers made them early consistently and didn't get them late.

Yeah, but it's risky, especially over the middle. Tanny didn't even get close and it was on the sideline.

yeah i wasn't saying it wasn't risky. That's Ben though.

The problem is the prior games were almost as horrific. The 2nd half was encouraging & we have to hope they found something going forward.
