C/Gs 's currently on the roster Harris, Amano, Valasco, Matthews.. Guards currently on the roster Kropog, Hutchinson.. Let's say for discussion sake that the starting interior is Hutch, Harris, Velasco, and that Mathews is the LS .. would you keep Amano as the swing interior lineman??

Yes, but that probably won't happen. I'm betting Amano will be a starter. Which is upsetting, to say the least. Kevin Matthews is a better player than Amano imo.

Kevin Mathews is on the roster because of his dad. He played in one game. Come on.

played pretty damn good in that game too imo. Scott wells is about the same size as Kevin and also spent time on the practice squad after getting cut, it was 3 or 4 years before he became a starter. I personally think Kevin could follow the same path. Jmo. Anyway, they all need to be upgraded except Harris.

I'd really love to see Harris move to center, and then let Velasco/ Amano/ Kropog fight it out for RG and back/up center guard.... I'd be happy with Hutchinson/Harris/ Velasco with Amano as the backup interior lineman..

Besides I want Jamal having to watch Amano play center

If he plays center, I'm straight radio feed next year. I think it's hard-core revisionist to claim they weren't trying to replace him, as you have... but who's left, Saturday? Amano might be best of the worst options.

According to pro football focus we had one of the top 10 lines in the nfl because we protect so well and Amano was indeed the worst player on the unit.

They also rank Satrele as one of the top run blocking centers in the entire league so we can still get the player we want there.

As for Amano competing for another starting spot forget it. They are not going to pay the guy that kind of money to move over to guard when we have cheaper guys who are at least as good or better. We have better things to use that money for.

Said it earlier that Satele is an under the radar guy only 27

I'd look at Jason Brown too

I don't know what the hell happened to him, STL curse maybe lol

He was good in BAL and became the highest paid center in the NFL, maybe even in NFL history not sure

And totally flamed out in STL

He stayed healthy, so that wasn't the issue

Maybe Munch and Matthews can revitalize him, he's only 28 still

We signed Mawae at age 35 and got 5 good years out of him so why can't Saturday give us 1 or 2? He is a first rate professional who can still be good in calling the protections and WOULD even at that age be an upgrade over what we have.

I could see getting a year or 2 out of Saturday (with Manning), and he's still an upgrade over Amano plus he'd be cheaper too.

Hutchison came in and talked to the team, he then left for Seattle. At this same time the Titans talked to Wells and Myers. The Titans agreed to Hutch in a Seattle hotel room. After that deal was made there was never any real news about the Titans still trying to sign a center. I haven't seen a report saying Wells chose the Rams over the Titans or Myers took the Texans over the Titans. People were just speculating since they visited. Munchak said they were open to moving Amano to guard last week and really praised his versatility which made it seem like there plan was to sign either a center or guard and would move people based on who they got.

This is only my own guess, maybe we find out in the coming days they still tried to get one of the centers.

BTW, if this team were to sign Hutchison and Saturday to start on their line it would be an absolute joke.

Maybe, but that joke wouldn't be as near as funny as the OL we had this year. The real joke is the idea that our OL was good.

Houston paper reported that Myers chose Texans over other offers. Given that he came to TN, I suspect though can't confirm we made an offer.

Yea I read that but it was vague. Tennessee actually had Wells and Myers both in town and the St. Louis Paper said Wells picked the Rams over the Titans.

Forgetting about Hutchison there is no way the Titans offered both Wells and Myers a deal.
