But I agree with you on bringing him back earlier. JRob should have called him the week after Delanie went down instead of dickin' around trying to find a TE that could block on the move. You could get angry about them doing something so much that are so bad at but they are equally poor throwing the ball according to DVOA. You could argue they should throw more on 1st down except Mariota has a 58 passer rating on 1st and 10 and it's the down and distance he's thrown the most passes. OMAN often misrepresents stats to make his point. Honestly it's like watching a politician at work. Yea I'm having to really twist the stats to point out Mariota's futility 13 TDs and 15 INTs last season, 3 TDs and 5 INTs this season. He sucked half of 2016 too. Unluckiest QB ever! You used a stat that includes two passes where he couldn’t grip a football and an injury that was supposed to have him out several games. Its not an ankle. Do do what any intelligent coach would do when determining his skills in first down and wipe those two off. Don’t include the drops... fine. Actually all 5 INTs were after the injury and he just now took the glove off, we can argue all 5 should be taken away in this fantasy world. Also why not include the drops, he threw passes that should have been caught. I'd also guess the reason they are one of the most run heavy teams on 1st down is this staff is using him incorrectly.
