I listened to a Titan podcast today(titansized?) and they talked about Mariota’s poor start to camp. They basically gave reasons/excuses and two of them seemed like big Mariota apologists. But it was matter of factly that he’s been bad. They’ve seen all 5 days and had access to player interviews.

Kuharsky said hes been way too inconsistent but pointed to the new offense as a potential reason

Strange that the reddit guy said he’s looked so good. I watched Saturday and he looked good. Then Sunday he was supposedly lights out. Rest of the days he must have been shaky. Let’s hope it’s learning the offense pains.

It wasn’t hard to find something negative to write about Mariota most of last year...

The funny thing is the media and fans are actually amazingly kind to him considering the year he just had

We've lived through Vince Young, Jake Locker and Zach Mettenberger.

Mariota's statically bad season was better than all of their best.

Helps when you’re one of the clutchest QBs in the NFL despite having an awful year (wasn’t he tied for the lead in 4th quarter comebacks?). He came through when it mattered most. I do agree he needs to become a lot more consistent in the first 3 quarters.

It wasn't just him, a few of us were posting twitter feeds that mirrored that. Believe your eyes not someones podcast interpretations.

This place is going to look like the nuclear holocaust if Marcus throws a pick in his first preseason game.

No it won't, it won't be his fault

Marcus gets a pass from me for last season. There were enough contributing factors (play-calling, scheme, receiving corps, coming off injury, no off-season, etc) where I'm comfortable giving him a mulligan. Most and maybe all of those factors have been erased now. This season is do or die. He has everything at his disposal to have a great season and if he fails there is little to blame but him. Henry is in the same boat. We'll find out this season if we were justified in giving him a pass for last season. I hope they both rise to the occasion because even if he fails, if he doesn't fail hard enough we won't be picking nearly highly enough to draft his replacement.

Why would you boo your young QB for taking your team to the playoffs while having a down year lol.

Fair critique isn’t booing him but the reason is because he played poorly. Any time someone starts pointing to team accomplishments for the QB look out. Tebow and VY took their teams to the playoffs(or did they?)
