Nah it’s true. The amount my own mother and grandfather were pissed about the situation was directly related to the military, flag and respect. My uncle died in vietnam. They saw that as a spit in his face thing.

I vehemently disagree with them and they can’t get past the emotional argument.

So so just because logically it doesn’t follow... does not mean that it does not have an impact. People have emotions... even if they dont have real reason. To feel that way.

If the response is inappropriate, it is a response based on other factors. Lack of understanding, lack of empathy, ingrained bias - there are many reasons. But if the intent is not there on the part of the actor then the response is not a true result of the action.

The masses are stupid. It was clear how they would respond to anthem protests. To think otherwise is foolish.

This would be a decent point if any of the Eagles players kneeled last year.

None of them did!

This is all about Trump turning bad PR (only a few Eagles want o meet him) into red meat for his base.

So intent matters and these people are just stupid?  Yet if someone makes an unintended comment taken as racial or anything else negative and it wasn't intended as such they get roasted by the left and media every time.  If something is offensive we need to be consistent and agree it is offensive for whatever reason and is thus wrong.

I agree. Donald Trump is a racist.

You know what's hilariously pathetic? Fox news showing pictures of Ertz and others KNEELING IN PRAYER to rile up all the Trumpers. What a disingenuous, disrespectful thing to do. Meanwhile, all the people who watch fox news and  have no tether to reality are going to think the Eagles kneeled during the anthem when they didn't.

Trump only gives a shit about the anthem thing because he knows it plays with his base; he is grandstanding and making this an issue and more of a national conversation because it gives him attention dollars.

It takes attention away from the real decisions he is making that impact our country.  The actual things that matter.

I'm not trying to debate if what he is doing is right or wrong but it's a shady path that he takes.  He plays the people of this country to further his agenda.

It is pathetic IMO.

Show me the quotes from Trump to justify that comment.

"Where is my African American friend", asked by candidate Trump during a rally in an effort to point to him during the rally.

It is pretty much a given that if a white person feels the need to go out of his way to point out that he has a black friend, he is probably a racist.

That's despicable.

This exactly why I didn't like the idea of protesting during the anthem. It's just too emotional for some people and emotion trumps logic most of the time. I personally don't find the protests offensive and don't think anyone else should but clearly some do and my objections can't change that.

This offends me. Apologize.

dont be so dense.

"why is that girl angry at me and crying??? all i did was break up with her!".. "she's so stupid to be doing that and feeling those feelings.. i never cared about her!!"

if you protest the flag/anthem you're going to piss off more military people than just about anyone else. no one cares if you think its an "inappropriate response" or not.. its a fact and pure common sense.
