I keep looking at that number 18 pick (Seahawks), they are currently going through a rebuild and don't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick this year, they want to trade back.

there is only a handful of guys in this draft I would trade up for, Davenport although extremely raw is one of them, his ceiling could be off the charts.

with Orakpo/Morgan in contract years, trading up for Davenport might be a risk worth taking.

JRob has already said he intends to be aggressive.  Davenport or Evans, if they think he can play outside, would be his targets imo.  Seattle or possibly Cincy make sense as trade partners.  Both need OL and there is great value for that at 25.

Actually if Davenport falls to Seattle it seems they would be all over the guy for themselves.  They need him big time.

True, but if they did that, they would have to wait until the 4th to try and get a starting OL.  They have no 2 or 3.

I know everybody is saying our OLBs are in the last year of their deals but we can resign them for like a 1 year deal if we cant find their replacement. Both love it here, in their 30s and wont cost a lot. I think Morgan has gotten better each year since switching to a 3-4. Po got 50 pressures last year. That said i dont see any OLBs making it to 25

I believe Orakpo actually had 60 pressures. I think our pair is a little underrated here. You have some teams with superstar edge guys but also nothing on the other side. We have 2 good to very good edge rushers.

I still think we could use another interior rusher, which is why I wanted Suh so bad, but our problem on defense the last few years was coverage, not pass rush.  Robinson obviously saw that the last 2 years & rectified it with big investments in the secondary.

iLB is a huge need now over OLB. We need a guy to play all 3 downs and an eventual Woodyard replacement and Brown is a sub package player and will stay that way. We have Morgan and Dodd on one side and have a hard time seeing a strong side OLB being the oick at 25. We do need a guy behind Po but Wallace is coming back is 100%. So the need isnt glaring right now like ILB.

Depending on the round Shaq Griffin could fill both spots. He can cover, blitz, and play the run, but most importantly he's a legit force off the edge. So he can play ILB & then rush off the edge on 3rd downs. Most important he'd provide depth at all 4 spots.

But Im not gonna lie, I'm becoming pretty obsessed with Leonard. I had no idea he had such freakishly long arms & that he made so many plays behind the LOS. I thought he was strictly a chase & tackle WILL. He & Brown could make a ton of plays on 3rd down.

I think Davenport is an absolute stud. Our guys are good but he'll be better. Guys like him don't usually make it to 25.

I love Davenport as well but he may drop, he's simply not a very good pass rusher yet & may never be. He's very raw. But he's already very physical & a stud run player. He can step in ASAP & be a big time rusher. But as of now he really has no pass rush game, he basically just uses his length & power to bill rush, which is why he may drop.

But Davenport is a perfect edge player for us, he has awesome length & size, which is key if Vrabel is planning on running the Pats scheme, which I think he is.
