Quinton Spain gave up 3 sacks to Cam Heyward

He's clearly still hurt. Turf toe does not go away until the offseason. It was a massacre out there, Spain was destroyed. Schwenke was very solid the last 2 weeks, he was very good in pass pro aside from the tooling on the one play by Geno Atkins, whose done that to pro bowlers before.

Spain is a very solid guard when healthy, which he clearly isn't. I have no idea why Mularkey did not take him out when it was obvious he couldn't handle Heyward. This was a huge mistake. Mularkey had a bad night.

it sucks that G and RB are going to be one of many priorities in the offseason once again.

I'm not sure guard has to be. Kline is pretty good & Spain is to when healthy. But turf toe is very painful. He shouldn't have been playing tonight.

Im really pissed about this & hope Mularkey is asked to explain.

the interior OL was a problem this year right from the preseason, something has to change.

People seem to think too highly of Spain and Kline. They are cheap, OK starters but nothing special.

They are huge upgrades from what came before, mind you, but they haven’t been that impressive in general.

I don't know that Spain was forced into to the lineup too soon. I’d guess he was just overmatched by a better opponent.

Spain and Kline are serviceable. From the camera view I saw Murray's lack of production was much more on him than the guards, I saw holes, often big holes.

The pass pro was OK considering the opponent and a road game until the game got out of hand. I'm not sure Mariota wasn't responsible for some of the sacks given up as well.

Did Murray remind you of Eddie circa 2001-2003?  I cringed every time they gave him the ball.

Yeah Mariota had that bad sack where he moved back and spun and lost a ton of yards instead of stepping up and throwing the ball.

Yup. They out punched their collective weight class last year. Neither RB trusts the interior and its obvious. That doesn't excuse Murray and Henry, neither is the answer beyond this year in my opinion.

Spain had the 2nd longest streak among guards of not giving up a sack. Maybe he was just bad but I think he was still hurt.

There was one run in particular where Collinsworth said as nicely as possible that he didn't know what Murray was looking at, that he completely missed a hole.

I disagree about the pass pro, it was horrible. In garbage time they couldn't even stop the 3 man rush. Marcus wasn't good last night but I didn't see one sack that was even close to his fault.

We gave up 16 pressures & 4 sacks against Cindy & 5 sacks last night. This OL has regressed to the point where it's unrecognizable.

Spain hasnt practiced in two weeks. They only practiced one day this week literally. Only walkthroughs the other days.

I’d imagine that had as much to do with it as anything.

The Vince Williams sack was blatantly on Murray not picking him up.

We’re passing the ball way too much against good pass defenses because we can’t run it.
