They have to start protecting that glove side angle for Rinne. That's four straight goals from that angle going back to game four versus the Ducks.

That's all the post game talk from Melrose or something was asking about, he just kept harping on how its such a weakness for Rinne and damn near every goal he has let in the past few weeks has been that.

Yep, and Lavi has to do something to protect that side because it's been exposed. I'm not sure how to do it with how much our defensemen attack, but something has to give because it's out in the open at this point.

Sadly enough hopefully it's not too little too late and have to be an offseason solution. I remember back when the rangers we're in the cup our power play was atrocious but at that point in the season there is nothing to do really to make legit improvement

Pretty much. It doesn't make much sense in terms of how good Rinne is at just about everything else, but it's undeniably a glaring flaw.

The Pens will exploit that as much as possible. In a 1-3-1 defense, your goalie has a ton of responsibility with only one defenseman deep. Pekka looked human last night. Still, this Preds team is resilient and has a ton of character.

The offsides was the right call, but it definitely turned the game on us. The non-call on Crosby was straight bullshit. Rinne was fucking awful, and it was obvious we are missing Johansson really badly with how many passes kept flying through middle only for no one to be there. If we are going to win the series then they have to do better getting on rebounds.

With all that said I couldn't be prouder of the way they fought back. It takes a lot of tenacity to come back 0-3 and tie the game. They have to start protecting that glove side angle for Rinne. That's four straight goals from that angle going back to game four versus the Ducks.

Good post. Rinne has to be better but it's hard for a Goalie to stay in the game when he doesn't face a shot for nearly two full periods. As for Crosby, he's like an NBA Superstar; can't breathe on them and they can foul the shit out of anyone they guard except for someone of equal stature. He's an incredible two way player now though, have to give it to him.

I'm not saying the call was the wrong one. I believe how the ref was RIGHT THERE, how they could overturn because from the angles I seen, I couldn't tell if his entire skate was off the ice.

Exactly. If you have see it under a microscope to make the call, it should have stood as a goal.It definitely wasn't indisputable evidence, thus worthy of an over turned call. It definitely surprised me..

This is the preds fan in you. As a Caps fan I hate the Pens more than anyone and I have no issue saying that was an offsides.

True, but what I have a problem with is using replay for that minute margin of error. It could result in using replay for every close call .

I don't like it either but entering the zone with puck possession, particularly if an odd man rush develops can be one of the keys to a hockey game. The preds didn't get screwed. the rule is the rule and all teams have to deal with it.
