Agreed. I'm beginning to like the idea of taking a teez tabor, or tre White a little later on. Those 2 are just as talented as the others but getting 0 recognition right now. They seem to be getting classified as tier 2 corners in this draft

Tabor doesn't fit JR qualities and he is overrated.

He isn't even the third best CB in the draft.

Personally, I think the best are in the following order

1) Sidney Jones

3) Quincy Wilson

3) Desmond King

4) Cordera Tankersley

5) Marshon Lattimore

6) Adoree Jackson

7) Teez Tabor

8) Jourdan Lewis

9) Marlon Humphrey

10) Cam Sutton

I think Kiper is right about QB's not being worthy this year.  We all know someone will be desperate and take a shot but I would have MAJOR reservations about taking any of these QB's high this year.  Watson is undersized, has shown inconsistent accuracy, and is coming from a spread.  Trubisky only has really one year of production and he's played against poor competition imo.

While, I do think it's likely a QB goes at least top 5-10 they won't be worth it and this really feels like a really weak year for QB needy teams.  JMO.

Definitely can't rule out a trade down. We're all talking about the Rams pick, but I'm also looking at the Eagles pick that the Browns have. That could be an opportunity to get our 2 back. With the Jets currently picking one spot behind us, I could see a team like the Browns trying to leapfrog for a QB. They currently pick at 10. Eagles have collapsed and finish the season @BAL, NYG, and DAL. Good chance that Eagles pick would stay top 10, so if we did trade down with CLE, it wouldn't be a huge dropoff and we could still get a 2. Bills are another team to monitor.

Agree in that I like S Jones.  D King too, though I think he will be more solid than spectacular.

And I keep beating this drum, but am very much hoping (assuming the right players fall to our slots) that we take a CB in the mid-late first and then another in 2-3 (hoping for trade back to pick up 2-3 pick).  We need more than one regardless, and it provides a little insurance in case 1st option just doesn't pan out.

If a guy like Humphrey is really rated #9 we need to trade back and get a couple of CBs later.  Double down in those years a position is loaded.

Oh, we need a real good NB as well so even if we don't start one of our picks right away we have room for an extra pick.

Not to mention that despite this team's incredible improvement from season to season, our roster is still thin, primarily at CB as we know.  We're better off with 2 good CBs at this point rather than one who is supposedly the best of the group.  Be nice, but almost a luxury at this point if you'er talking about getting back to playoffs ASAP (unless of course we get a starter in FA).  I think of drafting 2 now less as Reese's shotgun approach to a position like when he picked up Odom/Laboy or B Jones/Roby/R Williams, but more about attack the need especially when the position seems to be such a strong one this upcoming draft.  Despite that, though, I am not sure there are necessarily any HOFers in the group (yeah, I know, ask me again in a decade) as opposed to simply a group of solid players creating draft depth/value.  Which again circles back to trading that high 1st for a late 1st/2nd, assuming you're not looking at Allen or similar still on the board.

Man I hope Kizer, D Watson and M Trubinsky rock out at the combine.

Kiper released his 1.0 mock draft today. It really didn't make much sense to me. Had us taking CB Lattimore out of Ohio state at #5. Other notables were Jamal Adams at #3 to Jacksonville (huge surprise), jabrill peppers #4 to Chicago, and featured NO QB taken in the top 10. He says there aren't any qbs worthy of going that high this year. He may be on to something. I'm not sure that trading back would be a simple route this year if we chose to go that direction. Thoughts?

I been telling everybody Jamal Adams will go higher than what people think.

as long as JRob brings in at least one starter at CB during FA wouldn't have a problem waiting till the 3rd round to get a CB.

would not be at all shocked if our two first rounders were ILB/TE or ILB/OLB

its not sustainable for Orakpo/Morgan to play 85%+ of snaps every week, they will wear down during the season.

with the uncertainty surrounding Dodd adding a guy like McKinley an explosive DE/OLB could be very beneficial to the team long term.

I'm thinking that way as well. Bring in an outside CB to replace McCourty in FA. Maybe look at a NB as well. They could still take a 1st round CB, but it becomes a less of a need if they do this, especially if they have confidence in Sims. I don't have a problem waiting till 3rd round for a CB either or a 2 if the Titans can trade back and get their 2 back.

I'm thinking some combination of ILB +S, TE, or OLB. Depends on how FA goes. This draft looks loaded with edge rushers. Even with Orakpo/Morgan under contract a few more seasons and the 2nd rounder on Dodd, I'd still look at it. Can't assume Morgan and Orakpo will be able to play as many snaps next season. Can't assume they'll play as well either. And then there's Dodd. I like the NYG mentality of grabbing pass rushers so I have no problem taking one even if it's a bit of a log jam.

I get the desire some have for WR, but it's an underwhelming group in the draft and FA imo. Definitely need to add depth, but I'd wait another year until making a more serious investment. Build other positions instead.

there are plenty of good WR in this draft class its just a value issue, if we end up picking 5th or 6th we simply can't take a WR there it would be madness.

even with our own pick at around 15 there could be an argument made due to our offensive scheme a TE would be more valuable to us.

If one of these WR is an Evans, Cooper, Watkins, ODB, etc I'd be open to it. But I don't think any of them are. I think they're closer to the 09, 12, or this past year's WR class at the top. I'd much rather see us take Howard over Ross, Davis, etc if we pick an offensive player

I'm as high on Adams as any safety I've seen in a long time. Just didn't see any of the top draft teams needing a safety over some other positions. I really think Adams is the next big thing at safety. However, he's recently been on twitter retweeting a ton of stuff about him being the heisman winner in 17'... maybe he's entertaining coming back to lsu?
