Mariota has fumbled, and been caught plenty on runs. So lets not act like it's a gimme for him. I never said it's a gimme. But if you're going to go down go down with what's been working. Look in general I think Mularkey has done a good job. This is the first loss I put at his shoes.

But do you think on 4h and 1 Pagano and staff are giving the ball to Frank Gore? Yes he would. Although the difference is Luck is the size of Cam Newton and doesn't fumble nearly as much as Mariota. We are big and they are quick on both sides of the ball. Mariota and Luck are going to have some great games for the next several years though so there is a silver lining here. I had heard that this was why we were taking the league by storm on offense.

The run game has been putrid for weeks (save a couple plays) and your quarterback is on fire. Murray hadn't had a great enough game to warrant putting the ball in his hands at that particular moment. Murray is a good player, but he has regressed as the season has gone along. To call him a great player at this point in the season is laughable. It drives me absolutely nuts when I hear the media talk about the team and about how they're tough and physical and will run it down your throats and Mariota makes a play or 2 there. And their defense can get after the QB. Yeah that all may have been true....in week 5, over half a season ago. If these idiots actually paid attention to the team they'd know that what they're saying couldn't be further from the truth.

We pass because people are gearing to stop the run. You're falling into the same traps over and over. We threw the second most times this season. We get big plays off play action ... why is that? We need to keep defenses honest so yes, we need to keep trying to establish a run unless the game isn't close. The game was close.
big2033
I'll say it here. If we abandon the run things will get tougher, not easier for Marcus. That means more sacks, more turnovers and more 3 and outs. As third and longs will mount.

I'm not asking them to abandon the run. I'm asking them to put the ball in the best player's hands on the biggest play of the game. And these 2nd and 10 runs need to stop as well. Both sides of the ball stemmed the tide and adjusted well. Not sure it's all on the coaches and the boomerang of fan pandemonium of positive or negative has got to stop. Ultimately, you can't be designed to run, fail at it generally, stick with it anyway, feature only one guy when a valid alternative exists... and not have it pay off late in the 4th when you need 1 yard in a must win game. That's when it needs to pay off. Whether that's coaching, bad luck or just not being good enough... who knows? But it's how we're designed and it failed. that is coaching. you dont make that call when its obvious it isnt working. you dont continue to ram your head against a wall to make a point. oldschool
The Titans are a run first team. bitching about a hand off on 4th and 1 is nflstudent-esque.

We did ... on the first 4th and 1 ... how many times are you going to drop back and pass on 4th and 1? How many times are you going to keep putting it on Marcus? Football never works that way and you know that. Teams make adjustments. You think if we kept putting it on Marcus' shoulders the defense wouldn't adjust to that? Like say, for a strip sack? Cmon he was sacked 5 times today. At least one time for holding the ball too long.
