Matt Cassel is having surgery on his hand and is likely out for the season as well

Time will tell if taking Locker was the right decision, but based on how the team has performed so far (and how this season's gone so far around the NFL) , we likely wouldn't even have the chance to draft a QB high in this upcoming draft

SEA, WAS, IND, KC, DEN, CLE, and MIA could all be looking at QB in next year's draft

Appearing on 610 Houston Monday evening, Texans coach Gary Kubiak disputed reports that Matt Schaub (foot) is done for the season.

"It's the team's opinion that he is not out for the year," said Kubiak. The Texans still want to see how Schaub emerges from an upcoming visit with Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina. They'll decide whether to place him on injured reserve then. Clearly, though, Schaub isn't going to play anytime soon, and in all likelihood he is probably done for the season.

They just do not want to face it, so shopping around doctors.

The Texans will likely continue to beat bad teams but may struggle against the good ones. The problem is that they have an easy schedule down the stretch. I think fans are over playing the win yesterday. The Titans beat a terrible Panthers team that shot themselves in the foot all day. Lets see how they fair against the Falcons and Saints before we start talking playoffs. As far as I'm concerned, the Titans are still what they have been from the beginning of the season: A team that beats bad teams and loses to good ones.

What will the changes X's-O's for opposing defenses against in Leinart be? With his lack of arm strength, less need for safety support over the top? More men in the box against the run?

Not sure it changes much to be honest. AJ has been out for a month and it hasn't slowed them down. Foster and Tate are a nasty combo and their OL is vastly under rated.

I fully agree but the AFC wildcard spots are wide open. I'll be perfectly happy with backing into the playoffs especially after closing the season last year at 1-8.

Texans will still win the division but their SB hopes are likely gone.

What if you knew before the season the Jags would lose Garrard and start Gabbert, the Colts would lose Manning all year and the Texans would lose Schaub, Williams and AJ?

You haven't watched the Texans much this year have you? They are winning with power football and a good defense. Schaub has been a caretaker unlike in years past. They may not beat the Falcons or Bengals but at worst, I see them going 11-5.

Oman is right, their Superbowl hopes are gone but the division is still theirs.

The real question though is whether the Texans will mentally hold it together for the rest of the season with their quarterback out. One or two bad losses and how will the team respond? They've collapsed many times before down the stretch.

Poor Houston.

First Yao Ming, and now Schaub. You can forget this season, and there's a very real possibility that his career is over. Like Yao, no matter how much time you allow this injury to heal, it will probably re-occur if he steps wrong just once.

My sense is that they will try to rush him back for the playoffs with some sort of protective shoe, just from listening to Kubiak. But that would be a mistake.
