Honestly, I don't understand how this goes hand in hand with your strong religious beliefs. Religion should bring you comfort, but you are simultaneously one of the most religious people and one of the angriest people I have conversed with. I don't personally believe God should have a role in American politics though I wouldn't go so far as some who say there shouldn't be any christian values in our government and I don't care if it says in god we trust on the money or the 10 commandments hang on the wall. I don't think they're bad people and I don't think they should have to sit out of the race or their views are inconsequential. Christian's dominate 75% of the population and the christian culture is interwoven on the deepest levels with American culture in general. I simply wish for them to leave their religion out of the politics (which to Cruz and Romney's credit they mostly do, Santorum is the big one here) and I oppose many of their political policies that are based on their religious ethics where I tend to agree with Mills' utilitarian theories. Let me clarify - I am sure Cruz is a Christian, and probably fairly religious. But when he lays it on thick, like a Huckabee or Santorum do naturally, it seems completely and totally phony to me.
