Btowner
When Underwood mentioned 150 candidates. Wasn't that number suspect? If you take every top 10 D1 HC, every recently unemployed NFL HC and every current NFL OC and DC, do you even get to 150?

That drops off a bunch of candidates that had not had their first gig and justifiably so because even good HCs have bad track records in their first job. Then guys like Kelly they dismiss for one reason or another and when all is said and done Mularkey is at least on a par with what is left. So then they go with the guy they knew. The guy the players support including the most important player, Mariota. No.

Guest
No matter how much you like Mularkey you have to be concerned with any management team that does not take the time to sit and talk with some other candidates. There was nothing to lose to talk to candidates and everything to gain. I don't love Chip Kelly or McDaniels but why would I not take the time to sit and pick their brains and see what's under the hood there? It's not like Mularkey was going anywhere. It was really ridiculous.
OILERMAN
They would have had to wait too long to talk to McDaniel, he refused interviews. Putting together a staff is more important than picking someones brain.
ctm
Normally that's true. But they could have picked this staff in July.

No, I won't be attending -- that's why the Christmas bonus was so good this year! *billionaire-to-loyal-millionaire chuckle*,... yeah, I think we got it right this time,... at least Marcus should make it in 1 piece next year,... yeah,... okay, gotta go,..." ... or maybe list was garbage and AAS cut short another pointless waste of time.
