abenjami
lol West got robbed though once when the camera showed the ball clearly over the line but he didn't get the call. If i'm thinking of the same play you are, the camera showed the ball clearly over the line only after he was clearly down.
No1TitansFan
I'll eat crow if i'm wrong but after seeing Sankey all of last year and this preseason he just doesn't look like anything special to me. I would like to see what West and Andrews could do and if i'm a betting man i'd bet both do better overall than Sankey.

Same play I think but I couldn't see if his knee was down. Looked like he was still upright, forward progress stopped though.
Super Mariota
West is very blah. Nothing he does is impressive, he is not a good short yardage back for his size either.
Mythos27
The two work pretty well as a duo and really that's more important than either one looking "better" than the other.
big2033
A little early when the guy didn't even crack 100 yards no?
big2033
What amazes me is how pumped people were about West when his history isn't any better than Sankey's (3.9 YPC) and on top of that he has an attitude. Glad we have him for depth but nothing special. YPC doesn't matter with a brusing back like West. Sankey doesn't get you 4 yards nearly as consistently, I love the way West ran yesterday. That said, the most encouraging thing was watching how Sankey melded with what Mariota was doing. His versatility will be amazing for our offense if he can be an effective runner. Yogaguy
I could see McCluster as the odd-man-out after this season, with Sankey moved into his role, only used more often. Cobb & West would share heavy lifting...
No1TitansFan
A little early when the guy didn't even crack 100 yards no? Mike wants him cut and Andrews, who has been hurt more than playing, promoted over him.
big2033
West wasn't that impressive and missed a couple of cuts that could have given him more yards. Bottom line is both a decent but not above average. Cobb might be the best when he comes back. I agree there. West was traded for a reason. I want to see Cobb in action as it's kind of a big deal for the team to put him on the eight week IR ... it means they like what they saw from him. But i have a hard time gaging this game from Sankey. He still had some bad runs, and the Mariota factor did help. I need to see more. However I like that he could be a versatile weapon in this offense as he got better catching the ball as the game went on. Also, I like that on some plays he didn't just get what was blocked. big2033
How can you not say Sankey had a damn good game? Was he perfect? Maybe not but over 6 yards per carry and a catch for a TD. Pretty darn good IMO. Damn good? Damn good is well over 100 yards and controlling a game. I want to see him carry the offense a bit ... that's a good game. Mariota was still the one making the 3rd down throws and dominating the defense. Without Mariota I don't see Sankey being nearly as effective. I want to see a game where you can say that Sankey gashed the opposition. A bit unstoppable. That said, does Sankey need to be Adrian Peterson? Not really. If he can consistently give us these kind of performances we're definitely in a good place with him.
freakingeek
Personally, I'll take 6 yards per carry and a TD in limited action. West ran with purpose and usually pushed the pile forwards. Not a game breaker but what we are trying to do is move the chains. When West gets more familiar with the schemes he'll be more productive. I like what I saw.
Guest
It's easy to see Sankey isn't a body puncher. West has been brought in to get the tough inside yards. In any case, we have terrible depth at this position. When you're grabbing guys off the waiver wire and he practices for then first time on Monday and playing them significant snaps it's yet another indictment of the guys picking the groceries. Alcibiades
Sankey had a great game. He didn't get all the carries. If he had, he easily has a 100 yard game. But I don't care. The plan is to have a one-two punch, and I thought our run game looked great, especially considering TB knew it was coming all second half.

Cmon, it's pretty tough to get a 100 yards with 12 carries. He also had about what, a 15-20 yarder called back on the Lewan hold? They called the dogs off mid 3rd qtr & put West in, I'm pretty sure Sankey would've racked up the yards. We never saw him look anything near like he did yesterday even one game last year.
