I can't even think of a player more dominant relevant to his competition in ANY sport. Maybe the better of the Serena/Venus sister but that's even a stretch. Only other person I could possibly put into that category would be Gretzky and maybe Rice but even those guys are a stretch IMO.

Most people who think that Tiger Woods is the best player of all-time probably can't even name another pro golfer. Wanna talk about a truly dominant player? Bobby Jones won 13 majors before he turned 29 years old, then he retired in 1930. I don't know golf. Tiger won 8 of his 15 majors by the time he turned 29. If Jones has kept playing another 5 or 10 years he would have easily won 20 or more majors.

It was a much different game back then. He did play in the Masters for many years after his "retirement" and why don't you tell us how many times he won it? But the point of this thread isn't to compare Babe Ruth to Willie Mays or Barry Bonds. So no, I don't want to talk about another dominant golfer. The topic at hand was whether Tiger was finished or not, and obviously he was not.

Well when this thread was started it was shortly after it was a forgone conclusion he would break it, with ease even. Is Tiger Woods still a good golfer? Yes Is the Tiger Woods who dominated the game finished? Yes

Oh Tiger definitely bounced back after this thread was started and was playing good golf. I agree he's got a shot at any tournament anytime.

I agree he's got a shot at any tournament anytime. At this point in his career it's more about his stamina than anything else. If his back feels good, he'll play in more tournaments and be more competitive. If it doesn't, we will see him less and he won't be as good. Not to compare myself to Tiger Woods or anything, but as a pretty serious amateur golfer around the same age, I can relate to the back issue.
