Interesting Fact About Munchak

Munch had no business being a HC, but there were players who improved under his tenure. We did not see any players progress last year.. Almost everyone regressed.

Maybe Warmack towards the end, but that is it.

I don't even think Iowa believes half the crap he posts, I consider him one of the dumbest posters on these forums and even I don't buy he's this dumb

Whisenhunt for all his fault has an incredible resume as an OC and took a bad franchise to a Superbowl, albeit on the back of a HOF caliber QB. Munch is a good Position coach who had no business being an NFL HC. Comparing the two is a joke.

My bad....I thought we were comparing them as head coaches.

How can you even try and say that a team QB'd by Matt Hasselbeck was worse than a team QB'd by Jake Locker, Charlie Whitehurst and a rookie? That's half the battle right there.

And the OL comparisons aren't even worth getting into. Two tackles in their primes versus a team fielding 5th and 6th string tackles for much of the season.

The debate is who inherited the worst roster...and that would be Munch.  Hasselbeck was brought in after he took over.

Kind of like Whitehurst and 'a rookie' were brought in by Whiz.

Now you're cherry picking your argument.

Sure, Jake Locker, I guess, is better than Rusty Smith. And when Munchak took over Rusty Smith was literally the only QB on the roster. But the roster he fielded in 2011 was way, way better than what Whisenhunt had last year.

I'm not cherry-picking anything.  The actual argument was about who was left with a better roster.

It wasn't Munch.

I call it like I see it, and I think the following is largely beyond debate:

1.  Fisher was a very very good head coach, but not great or elite.  Even if he was elite at one point, certainly by the end of his tenure here in Tennessee, for many reasons, he had lost whatever he had, and it was just time for everyone to move on.  Fisher was discouraged and burned out and mailing it in at the end.

2.  Going with Munch was a terrible decision.  He was completely and utterly unqualified to be a head coach.

3.  Whiz has been a huge disappointment.

4.  All of the coaches above have been saddled with lousy roster management and personnel decisions.

The end result is, given Whiz's limitations, and our terrible GM, I don't see anyway in the world it turns around this year, and I expect the whole thing to be blown up after this coming season.

Whose roster was better at the beginning of the season?

That wasn't the argument, but if it was, it would be close.  I would give the edge to Munch because of Hass...thank God he and Webster/MR brought him in.

@Legaltitan....the Fisher argument is beyond debate?  Funny...it seems to be one of the most debated things on here.

Munch was a horrible head coach, with no system that a GM could draft for. I'm not a huge Webster supporter but he gets a ton of grief on this site because Munch didn't have an overall plan as a coach.

Webster gets a ton of grief because of jackass decisions like not cutting CJ and getting rid of Verner, both of which had nothing to do with Munchak.

His dicking around with CJ is cause enough alone to hate on Webster.   That shit set the team back for a few seasons because he forced the team to try build around him.
