Matt Miller tweet about Chargers moving up...

I think it would have to be a monumental trade at this point.

I wouldn't accept it, though.

If you think Mariota is going to be your franchise QB, you take him.  If you don't, you draft Leonard Williams.

At this point, I'd be disappointed if we traded down.

Don't get me wrong, a player like Danny Shelton could be very good for our defense, in addition to whatever compensatory picks we would gain in the process, but I would still feel underwhelmed if we ended up going a route like that (even though it has potential to be better for us, longterm).  At this point, for me, it's either Williams, Mariota, Rivers (without us giving up anything other than the 2nd overall), or I have a big "meh" face for the rest of the night.

Nah I've told you the longer I've read and watched the less I am in his favor. I think I've been honest throughout. I really was 60/40 Mett at one point, then 50/50 now 40/60. I think he's going to get hurt if he starts for us again next year.

I understand the injury concern even though I think it's really hard to fault a guy for having ACL tears. That being said, he has to stay on the field and if he suffers a major injury next year, I'll be right there with you. What I have an issue with is anyone that doesn't think Mett played well considering the situation is was thrown into. He flashed all of the things that fans and coaches drool over when it comes to pocket QBs: a big arm, mobility within the pocket (not to be confused with scrambling), a feel for the rush, accuracy down the field into tight windows, etc.... Does that mean he's franchise caliber QB? who knows. One this is for certain though, the hate he's getting on this board is complete bullshit and grounded in nothing but air.

All Rivers will do on the 2015 Titans is end up in the hospital.

I'd rather stick with Mett and use the #2 to draft Williams. If Mett flames out, we can go get Rivers when he's a UFA next year and it won't cost us anything.

I second that motion. All in favor say Aye

Our FOUNDATION is cracked. We don't need new cabinets, new floors, a sunroom or a new roof. The damn house is falling apart. We need Williams, another CB and a wide out.

We need to stick with Defense and some fast guys for special teams. That way we can be good at something. Have an identity again.

Then we get Rivers in FA next year...all the pieces are in place to add playmakers in the draft (next year)...

The foundation would actually be QB.

I don't understand how you can just take as a given that Rivers would sign here after next year.

That seems outright insane to assume.

Come on. Obviously any deal to acquire Rivers would have to include an agreement up front that Rivers signs an extension.

What this means is that the league is buying that if the offer isn't right, the Titans will take Mariota at 2.  Of course it also means we've probably already received several offers for the 2nd pick.

I was responding to the guy that said we should draft Williams and pick up Rivers in FA next year. Forgot to quote him.

Need I show you the video of him crawling on the field after tearing his ACL?

You mean the one where he threw a 40 yard frozen rope to Jarvis Landry as he was being crushed? Yeah, I saw that already, most guys don't react well to having their ACL torn. The fact that he stood tall knowing he was going to get crushed is all I need to know.

Careful Oldschool, @big2033 doesn't constantly dog on Mett at all. We're just so blinded by Mett that we can't see the multitude of horrible qualities he has as a player that ensure he will never improve.

This seems to be a sensitive, personal issue for you.  It will all be ok.  :)

I think what he is saying is that the plan of doing nothing and then just getting Rivers for free in FA is a pipe dream.
