Kirkster
Add a NT is FA like Wms (yes it will cost a fortune), put Morgan on one side and Orchard on the other, with Brown and Wmson, and you have an NFL quality front 7.. it's a really good start to a decent, solid defense .. I'm with you on this one. We would still need to find a CB and a SS somewhere. If you get a NT in free agency along with resigning Morgan, you then have the freedom to go front seven with the first two very high picks.

There's some great NT's in FA...Knighton, Williams, Kenrick Ellis (not a well known player but one I think could be a great value) & I think we need to sign one. NT is huge in LeBeau's D. I think the word "identity" is overused but good defenses are usually known for a particular unit, the Seattle secondary for example. Drafting Williams, assuming he is what we think he is, and signing Pot Roast could give us the best front 3 in football. They could be dominant in the run game & then Casey & Williams would be an awesome interior duo on 3rd down. We really are in position here to turn the front 7 around quickly. Nash
Maybe I'm a little too optimistic, but we would actually have some depth on the line.. Jones, SLH, Pitotua, maybe Klug…plus taking an OLB at 33 still leaves the possibility of getting another in FA like Harrison or finding one to develop.. ctm
Mayock just quoted Steve Mariucci as saying that in his interview with Winston that he was the smartest Xs & Os guy he had ever talked to.
Face
Mayock just quoted Steve Mariucci as saying that in his interview with Winston that he was the smartest Xs & Os guy he had ever talked to. George Whitfield, the private QB coach who worked with him & Luck, said Winston was just as X's & O's smart as Luck. Right away everybody laughed & said of course, he's his client. I don't buy that though. A big reason these kids go to these private coaches is their influence in the league, if a guy like Whitfield is falsely building a kid up it will kill his reputation. luvyablue256
Mike Evans was a beast last year and the Bucs have the same record as we do. Your argument is flawed. They dont have a QB. We might. But if we want to know for sure, he needs better weapons than Justin Hunter and Kendall Wright

Numerous people have said the same thing. Can we at least put to rest the mime that Winston is stupid as posters were claiming a month ago when comparing him to VY based on the 2014 national championship post game interview? I argued that point then and guys like CMJ immediately concluded I wanted to draft JW. I said no such thing.

This is actually a pattern with Winston... I think we can call him an intelligent QB
socaltitan
Trent Dilfer has said similar things. The issues are hard to overlook, but there is a lot to like about Winston's game

Most people assume he isn't a bright QB because he's black & he sounded bad in one interview after the NC game. Most people right away think the black QB is super talented physically but can't read defenses while the white guy is an unathletic brainiac. I remember reading Luck was very smart but didn't have top shelf talent. Lol, the guy is 6'4 240 & ran a 4.6 with a cannon arm. He was all world physically. Kurt Warner was just on saying Winston is by far the best 2nd level thrower in the draft, meaning the anticipation throws in the 15-30 yard range. The kid can read defenses. Face
Though I should add that Winston has also done a bunch of stupid shit that gives people good reason to call into question his intelligence. I don't want to say this kid is persecuted, he brought on a lot of his scorn.

I would like to hear an explanation of his INTs last year. Maybe it will come out in the Gruden interview.

big2033
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyZwdIeHVjI Interesting that his accent isn't as prevalent there. Maybe playing in Florida State changed things? Anyway who cares. Good stuff about his smarts. If this reputation reaches the surface he's staying at No. 1 overall to the Bucs.
