Horton is very close to LeBeau. Views him as a mentor/father figure. They went to a Superbowl together in Cincy in the 80's and have been tight for decades.

Horton will be happy to work with him.

Lebeau also brought Cioffi and Eason into coaching. Spanos worked under LeBeau for over a decade.

Not that we should even do this, but James Harrison and Ike Taylor have both expressed a desire to follow LeBeau wherever he goes. Additionally, Troy Polamalu will most likely be released and there is a pretty good chance that Polamalu will be the starting SS for the Titans next season imo. I know he's on the decline, but signing him to a short term deal where he can rotate in and out like Stafford did with Wilson last season would be advantageous for the Titans.

This is very similar to the 2013 off-season decision regarding the hiring of Gregg Williams, complimenting Jerry Grey. A decent hiring if it happens, but catching a coach at the tail end of a career that now becomes a consultant, rather than head of the defense and may have his best years behind him. This team should have never changed into a 3/4 system. By staying put, the drafting of Leonard Williams is a sure fire decision to take in the number 2 overall selection this spring. I wouldn't get too excited over anything just yet, until we start seeing the right moves and decisions made on behalf of this front office and ownership.

Bullshit. when you are the boss you don't like having someone put over you.especially at this level.

I'm pretty excited about this too, I think LeBeau and Horton can put together a stout defense.

I think the biggest gain from having Lebeau on staff is that Players want to play for him and he could persuade some talented defenders to come on board!

I bet he'd rather work under LeBeau and retain something authority over going somewhere and being a secondary coach.

Really not sure how I feel about this.  On one hand, it's Lebeau.  But it seems his glory years might be past, and as of right now I don't see enough talent on D for his presence to make a massive impact.  Still, as bad as we were I'll take anything at this point as a potential reason for improvement. Maybe he knows we almost certainly cannot be worse, and therefore realizes that as we improve he will get credit.

It's almost like hearing there's a Beatles reunion concert, but just with Ringo and a trio of semi-worthless replacements.  But heck, it's still Ringo, and therefore he's the headliner at the State Fair.
