Senior Bowl Practice Week

Grayson hasn't earned any praise from the draftbreakdown.com guys from what I've been able to read. Of course it's possible that some other outlet is talking about him but as of right now reports say they all suck which is a far cry from last year's senior bowl QB class.

The outlet that's been talking up Grayson is Mike Mayock, Charles Davis, and Walterfootball's reports. I've watched all the practices so far and it's completely obvious that Grayson is the best QB there and it's not even close.

So far, Grayson is the only QB in this draft that I want anywhere near the Titans and that's really unlikely because he'll go in the top of the 2nd or end of the 1st.

This is from the notes (Titans Online) of the players who took part in the South practice...kid sounds pretty intriguing...

• None of which however, were as impressive as Louisville’s Lorenzo Mauldin, who seemed to win his matchups with ease more often than not. Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said Wednesday that they’ve had to tone back Mauldin’s physicality in practice but he looks forward to unleashing him in the game on Saturday. Mauldin also blew up a TE screen in the team drills.

Yeah, I finally got around to watching Mauldin's tape and i must say i'm very impressed. This kid is extremely fast/explosive and sheds blocks with authority by knocking the arm down. My main concern for him at the next level is that he seems to have a short wingspan and allows the O lineman to get their fully extended arms on him to often.

While Mauldin is usually able to counter this, it might be much harder at the next level where the linemen will be longer, stronger, and more prepared to counter him. He'll also occasionally have some brain farts at times and gets sucked in or rush too far up-field against and option play but I'm sure that can be addressed.I love his motor and closing speed though and the kid is about as sure a tackler as I've seen at the position. This OLB class is as deep and talented as I've ever seen.

Utah DE Nate Orchard (18 sacks last yr) has been a stud this wk at Sr. Bowl. Just picked off screen pass, has been disruptive in backfield.

Tomlinson stood up Danny Shelton to end 1v1 portion. Very impressive 5 minute stretch for him. #SeniorBowl

Laken Tomlinson continues to impress at RG. Winning each 1v1. Once he gets feet set and sits down its game over. @Duke_FB #SeniorBowl

Seems a no-brainer that we should take Williams at #2 (assuming he's there) then grab an OLB at #33. There are going to be some 1st round quality guys there for us.

Yep, have my eye on Orchard, Kikaha, Bud Dupree, and Mauldin.

NFL execs are all saying Grayson was the best of the group so far according to Adam Caplan. I have no idea where this notion that Blake Sims was any good came from.

I've read no one has stood out and that he has been the leader of the south squad.. From what I've gathered they all look like late round picks

Thought I read somewhere that Kikaha didn't look good rushing standing up and was better rushing with his hand in the ground. Might not be the best fit?

I haven't found anyone yet that says that Grayson will last past the 2nd or 3rd round. You should find some new material to read. But otherwise, they do all look like crap.

I've watched every practice and Grayson has made a lot of great throws and had command of the huddle.

I've just read that he's not good in coverage. He's definitely a pass rusher first, hasn't looked good in coverage at all. But maybe he will improve over the process since he's been mainly a DE in college.

He's the right size, and has a lot of toughness and mental aptitude. He was the last person left on the practice field working by himself after all the others had left yesterday.
