Guest
Gee I wonder why SI puts up a picture of Mettenberger while discussing tank? Don't they know we're just looking for a "spark"? http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/11/14/titans-tanking-tennessee-schedule Of course, whether they choose to consciously acknowledge it, every payer in that room knows we gave up at 2-5. Giving 110% is always impossible but it's even more impossible for us. The Tank is strong my friends. OTOH I am sure glad Tommy is intrigued by all this. headhunter
I hope we do tank and grab a high pick. This team needs elite talent everywhere outside of Casey and Lewan
Rogue
Developing doesn't necessarily mean we are tanking. At some point, you put the past behind you and look towards the future. This has to happen at some point for every team. This phenomenon doesn't mean the plan is to lose out. It's like changing software because the old software is outdated. It's something you have to do if you want to stay competitive. Changing software in no way means the company is turning down work or giving up on profits. Just the opposite, even though the transition might be rough.

Face
But what would you prefer them to do? Teams stay bad when they don't acknowledge they're bad. 9 times out of 10, for all teams, a rookie QB isn't as good as the vet backup, it's a period of growing pains you have to go through. Is the team lying to the fans about this not being about the future? Of course they are, teams lie all the time. But the truth is evaluating ZM so they can determine if they have to draft or sign a QB is simply much more important than getting another win or two. I understand the vets frustration about this, Id be pissed to. But it is what it is.
reo
Bothered by tanking talk? Well then win a damn game.
CreepingDeath
RE: Tanking. - Meh. I agree with the "developing" sentiment. The defense needs experience in the new system and Mett simply needs experience. The OL, WRs and RBs shouldn't have as much leeway with this excuse. This year was never going to be that successful - especially with the QB situation we started with.
jtworsley
I'd at least like to see Mett get his first win against a NFL team, after that roll over and die
haywood
The article is weak, but thanks for posting it nonetheless - always interested in stuff like this. Seems nonsensical though, no real meat to the article. Lame journalism imo.

headhunter
Its a shame that Big Country couldnt play more years, most OTs can play well over ten years, he played less than ten.
Omar
Tanking? You don't have to tank when your team sucks, it's called sucking. As long as Whiz is calling plays, we don't have to worry about this team doing much winning.
Mythos27
Tanking is losing games on purpose. I don't believe we are losing on purpose. Benching Locker for Mett was an upgrade. We are not tanking.
