We're not done yet. Fantastic effort and game last night and Bridgestone was friggin rockin. 3 goals in less than 2 minutes in the 3rd period broke a tie game with Forsberg nailing an empty netter hat trick with a few seconds to go. Another great effort and some luck tomorrow night would get us a Monday night game back at our house for a winner take all shot. Electric atmosphere. There's no quit in these Predators.

Oh what could have been had we held onto the lead. We had 'em right where we wanted 'em. Tied game with 6 minutes to go. I was sure we would pull it out but the hawks turned up the heat. They did NOT want to come back to Nashville. Great series shitty outcome. Pretty successful season despite the poor second half.

Tough loss fr the Rangers last night.... Should have never been that close though, we got dominated and Ovechkin is def sick of hearing all the Shittalking about his lack of effort and D. He has stepped his overall game up a lot this post season.

Trotz is really loving this "having firepower in the forward lines" thing. And he has the Caps playing responsible defense. Which no other coach could do.  What a great match.

He's gotta be thanking his bloody stars he got away from Poile.

Trust me, Caps fans are thanking their bloody stars McPhee finally got canned as the GM. The Forsberg Erat trade was retarded. As for Trotz I didn't like the hire at first but boy was I wrong. He got Ovi to buy into playing defense and he's now one of the most complete players in the league. I love the fact the Rangers played pretty well in Games 1 and 2 and the Caps still managed to split. This is going to be a great series.

I am thrilled for Barry Trotz with the Caps.  I thought he would be a good fit, but not to this extent.  The entire culture over there has been changed.  The way he changed Ovi's game by not letting him glide and forcing him to backcheck has made him a totally different player.  A true playoff beast.  Then the way he has handled Mike Green and rejuvenated his career is almost miraculous.  I thought he was a lost cause.  He's letting his young talent play on the top lines without having to learn how to grind on the 4th line first, and it's paid off big time with the growth of Kuznetszov, Burakowski, and even Johannson.  They may not hold on to beat the Rags, but the future is looking bright for the Caps.  For once.

Quick Trivia - Who is the all time playoffs leader in Sv Pct?  Minimum 20 games played.  Bet nobody guessed it.

I'm not  a Leafs follower by any means.  They've had some players I really respected over the years like Sundin, Domi, and Gilmour, but I've always had the feeling that corporate TML is all about merchandising and profits.  Not so much about Cups.  No matter what roster they ice, it's always a sellout.  Sweaters and Labatt's are always sold.  Winning the Cup doesn't add to that.  TO will still be the center of the hockey universe, even if their last Cup win was back when there were only 6 teams in the NHL.  The TML fan is so loyal they are hurting themselves. Just my opinion though.

The Presidents Trophy winning Rags look all out of sorts.  They're getting shown up by kids like Burakowsky and Kuznetszov, while Holtby is simply dominating.  Even more so than Lundquist who is also playing lights out.  Hockey in May is so much fun.

The sad part is they actually do try to win. This would be far less tragic if they weren't even trying.

Last year was different than other years. I saw something I have never seen before in the fan base...apathy. Apathy is the enemy to any franchise. I tuned out at Christmas (first time ever) with what seemed like millions of others. The ACC had 2 games that were short of sell outs. The Leafs were taken off the CBC as the prime national game and they gave the Habs that spot.

It all feels very different. Like an abused woman who finally leaves after decades.

Another insane performance from Holtby. Caps up 3-1 in the series.

Once that penalty shot was stopped by a great save I knew it was game and probably series. But if there is a sport where you can come back 3-1 it is the NHL. Did it last playoffs against the Pens (but that was right when Marty's mom just died)

Barry is about 1 more win away from clinching coach of the year. I'm really happy for him.

The Caps history in game 7 coupled with the fact they've blown more 2-0 and 3-1 series leads then any other team says its very unlikely. Every Caps fan I know including me has already resigned themselves to a loss. If you know anything about their history you undetstand why that is.
