It's a foul for certain but it's not truly terrible and the player sold it so you're left feeling like the sell job is what got the call and not the legitimate foul. If it's not called, the legitimate foul becomes the focus for the other side. In the end, Mexico fouled him in the worst place (in the box) at the worst time. Only themselves to blame... though they'll point at the ref... and tired legs might have led to it so Dutch earned the foul. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's more than just being slow......It's not just one thing. I just find it incredibly boring. (Then again, 5 years ago I said the same about golf. Now I LOVE it. It's more than just being slow......It's not just one thing. I just find it incredibly boring. (Then again, 5 years ago I said the same about golf. Now I LOVE it. LOL. ) You have to be able to read the plays and understand the good build ups, almost chances, dangerous runs, etx. Like any sport - better understanding helps. CharrdWood Posted June 30, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 30, 2014 WRT: the "Robben incident"...he dived. Of this there is no doubt. He has been this way throughout his career, both club and international.  First half? Arguable.  Doesn"t mean a make-up call is necessary. I just hope Colombia eliminate the absolutely dour Brasilians, who are one of the worst teams to watch I've had to view in any WC. In fact, there hasn't been a Brasil side worth watching in 20-some-odd years. Cheats and charlatans.  Everyone knows why FIFA backs them and they get all the calls...hint (Jamal): it's not because they are really the best at football... Few of these World Cup games have been slow, though.   I actually love soccer. But have found it harder and harder to sit through all 90 minutes like I did in the 80s when I could watching Socrates.  And though a dead horse, I really can't handle just how pathetic the flopping has become. Cheating was always prevalent in soccer. I know, I played a long time and you learn what you can get away with in order to win. But now? Just sad. I think my interest would peak again if they could use replay to either red card a player (and the whole team) for the rest of the game if not the next game when it was determined that someone did a flagrant acting job. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
