The Titans have been trying to replace Verner for the past few years and i think its because of his speed, no way we go out and draft somebody that has the same measurables as Verner. They need some more weapons next to Calvin & Golden Tate isn't cutting it. With the depth at WR in this draft they may think the way to go is to pick the stud TE & then take a WR in the 2nd or 3rd. Disagree about Barr though, I know he's dropping but he's 1000 times the athlete Ayers was & a proven pass rusher. Smart teams like the Niners & Pats would jump all over him if he fell. Yes and yes. Barr dropping to 30 is crazy, but scouts claiming his lack of pass rush moves holds a lot of weight. Side note: Dee Ford is my sleeper pass rusher in this draft. I do see the mindset of the FO might be corner since we will be blitzing more and increasing the pressure on our CBs to make more plays unaided. It is unbelieveable how little interest there is from the national media in the Titans. I mean I don't blame them, bad team in a tiny market, I get it. The best was when we snagged Whisenhunt & Steve Mariucci was flat out pissed off that he picked us over Detroit. I'm telling you, he was legitamtely pissed off. It was weird, he looked pissed at first & then almost sad. The announcement came at about 5:30pm so I guess he thought he was done for the night & was about to go home & then the producers told him he had to stay late & talk about the Titans. That's like having your worst client call you at 4:59. He was just shocked that Whisenhunt would pass on the almighty Lions for us lowly Tennessean's, just flabbergasted.
