WG53
The only DE we ever hit on was Jevon Kearse, after him we've had some very bad luck in the draft with DEs. That is hardly true. Odom was a pretty good DE for us before he left. He didn't have high sack numbers but his QB pressures and hits were among the most in the league. Ford has been decent in a specialist role. Carlos Hall had a pretty good career for a 7th rounder. Juqua Thomas (Parker now right?) has had an ok career in the NFL.
CMJ
The only DE we ever hit on was Jevon Kearse, after him we've had some very bad luck in the draft with DEs. Carlos Hall, man. Don't forget the 'Los.
Starkiller
How dumb is not signing Ray Edwards look now? Not at all dumb. Not unless he has a great season.
Stan
Yeah but those guys weren't impact guys I don't think, Jevon was a freak of nature.
freakingeek
Carlos Hall, man. Don't forget the 'Los. One year wonder. He was good that year though.
NoD
Kearse was a hell of a hit though.
freakingeek
Not at all dumb. Not unless he has a great season. Even before the injury problems our depth was thin at DE with no proven guys and our best rushers had health questions. Now we're screwed. I think Alex Brown would shore things up until we know JJ and DM's status.
ctm
Brown is vested. No way you sign a guy like him till after the Jags game.
NashvilleNinja
One year wonder. He was good that year though. He was good that one game vs. Philly, mostly.
freakingeek
He was good that one game vs. Philly, mostly. We thought we had the next "freak". Never had another three sack game. I think he had 10 or so on the year.
OILERMAN
We thought we had the next "freak". Never had another three sack game. I think he had 10 or so on the year. He had 8. Juqua Thomas was the better DE and I posted that that season
freakingeek
He had 8. Juqua Thomas was the better DE and I posted that that season He went on to have a good career with the Eagles after we turned him loose didn't he?
WG53
He went on to have a good career with the Eagles after we turned him loose didn't he? Still plays for them I believe. Changed his last name to Parker I think.
WG53
Alex Brown is done IMO. Only had two sacks last year, 32 years old. I don't see much to help us there. If we sign a DE we need to find a guy who can put pressure on the QB better than Ball basically. That is the guy he would replace. I don't think Brown does that. Agreed. He's a shell of his former self.
Justafan
I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Odom. He would probably sign for peanuts now and he would be a pretty decent rotational guy. I know he just got shot but the article I read was that it was just a flesh wound.
