Don't read them if you don't want to. Sharona volunteered and I said "Why not?" She's built up a bit of a following and seems like a genuine person. Anyone is welcome to post an article as long as I don't have to spend thirty minutes editing grammar so feel free to write one of you think you can do better.

Her articles on MCM are the equivalent of a 3rd grader watching a professional sports team for the first time, and she's gone out of her way multiple times to imply that Justin Hunter is hands down the best receiver on the Titans roster (in his current form).  I've even seen reports where she's fawned over his performance while every other pundit covering the team has blasted him for dropped balls, wrong routes, etc.  She's a girl, and isn't awful looking...hence her "following."  If I need to expound on that or no one wants to pretend it's anything more than that, we're both just wasting our time.

And Jason, to this point, has just regurgitated shit that's not just been stepped on, but basically stomped to the ground.  Pretending like anyone should be excited for an article he posts is pretty much ridiculous as it's like saying you're patiently waiting for someone to explain how the new, exciting flavor of ice cream "Vanilla' will totally change everyone's world.

I'm going to stop, as I don't want to be overly mean.  It's my choice not to read them, you're right.  However, I will.  Good luck to them.

If there's one thing I can't abide it's someone writing something that other people appreciate and I don't. I can't stand that and must tear it down. Contribute to the world over my dead, complaining body.

For the record, front page content and the forums serve potentially different fan-sets and not everyone is an elitist who is only served "meaningful" commentary. Some people are actually casual fans and/or have a life and don't troll the boards all day. A well designed site will serve a much wider variety of fans than the mouthiest, most belligerent, negative outlook forum posters.

You want something "truly" in depth enough to read, take the time and write it. Absent that, stfu.

WG should give the masses some articles.

Profanity and all.

I would actually totally be down with that. The board truly has a critical style of its own and I think that is a style of voice that is needed in this city. It would make great reading if done in an intelligent way, something that I know WG and a few others could do. I actually think Oman would immediately become the most talked about and quoted Titans blogger if he ever decided to get into it.

Someone's sensitive.  Keep defending bad if you want, "just because it's an article."  Attaching that magical word to a piece of shit doesn't make it any less of a piece of shit.  And if you acknowledge (or want to pretend) that this website serves different fan-sets and that this forum doesn't drive 90% of the content, you're more than welcome, but don't be naive or hypocritical enough to pretend that anyone is immune to criticism on here.  You know, the forum part where we're free to voice our criticisms, whether constructive, positive, or not-so-positive.  You earn your stripes on TR, through posting insightful, well-researched, or funny (or all of the above) content.  And if you don't....you're going to hear about it.  So shut the fuck up with the condescending defense of people who, given their track records, are going to contribute the equivalent of yesterday's news or a fangirl love letter from the girl who's seen football maybe 3 times in her life.

Contribute to the world over my dead body?  Keep banging that drum.  I can stand on a turd and tell folks to look at my mountain, but at the end of the day, I'm still standing on a piece of shit.

Get over yourself.

I'm not prepared to sit back and let this turn into another flame war laced with personal attacks. Merc, I remember a time when you were owned to the point of announcing that you were leaving the board. You obviously came back. Now imagine that you're a new poster and not as invested. You wouldn't have come back. Give feedback but give them time to grow. That should go for all new people that don't fall into the asshat category. True, the unconditional homers will probably never fit in here. That's the beauty of a mostly unmoderated place. Something that is rare nowadays.

We want there to be more fans like us. We just have to give people a chance to see the light.

Some people here have gotten away from intelligent football discussion and replaced it with personal attacks. Intelligent criticism of the team is needed. However, being negative does not equal intelligent conversation.

When this place talks football and the debates get heated over football this place is the best there is.

This thing has turned into less of a post about you now and more of a State of the Union.

Point being, people need to focus more on staying on topic. If they disagree with someone, call them a f'ing idiot...fine. Just tell them why. Try not to blast new board members unless they really have it coming to them.

Those are just my suggestions and that's it. They're suggestions and not some law I'm laying down. Most people abide by these anyway since they are common sense.

*writing this from a phone. Excuse any errors.
