He was crying b/c he's an overly theatrical POS.

I'm not willing yet to make any of those assumptions but we'll see.

In 2016, Republicans were still announcing in June/July iirc. I'd think this trial will be fast tracked and done by then.

Secret Service Agents Subpoenaed in Trump Probe April 3, 2023 at 12:51 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 8 Comments Multiple U.S. Secret Service agents connected to former President Donald Trump have been subpoenaed and are expected to testify before the Washington, D.C. grand jury likely on Friday, Fox News reports. The grand jury appearances are related to the Special Counsel Jack Smith probe into the handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. https://politicalwire.com/2023/04/03/secret-service-agents-subpoenaed-in-trump-probe/

It's still really early. We'll see what happens.
-
It's why he's trying to slow play it and delaying announcing. He knows polls at this point don't mean much.
-
I think he still runs but he'll wait to officially announce until there's a field of candidates so it's harder for Trump to single him out until later in the race.
-
Being able to run isn't the same thing as being relevant. He wouldn't be able to do campaign rallies. He wouldn't even be able to consistently react/respond to things in a timely fashion. I doubt they'd let him keep a cell phone or computer so he could be on social media 24/7. It'd seriously limit him and I'd bet even Republican voters would move on to other candidates. You think DeSantis is getting votes now? He'd get a lot more if Trump was in jail for a variety of reasons. They'd all be like "yeah, Trump was great but I think I'm ready to see what 'such'n'such' has to say".
-
They're all just praying Trump goes to jail so he's out of their hair... and they can still campaign on how "unfairly" he was treated.
-
He'll rant and rave about them restricting his "free speech" and yell about "banana republic" and blah blah blah Very possibly he won't be able to control himself at 1am and then the judge will face the problem of whether or not to jail him for it. Trump will be betting that he won't do it.

They convinced a grand jury to indict and Cohen has already served time for this. That should give you a hint to start with.

Trump’s Attorneys and the Crimes They Enabled March 31, 2023 at 12:00 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 34 Comments Paul Rosenzweig: “To be sure, a determination by a judge that there is prima facie evidence to support a belief that an attorney and/or his client have engaged in criminal activity is not equivalent to the requirement for a criminal conviction of ‘proof beyond a reasonable doubt.’ But it is, all the same, an astonishing statement about the state of the evidence that demonstrates the strength of the cases against Trump.” “To put it simply, if there is sufficient evidence for a judge to find the crime-fraud exception applies, then there is likely enough evidence to support the presentation of an indictment to a grand jury. That prospect cannot give Trump any real comfort, but the slow, deliberate operation of the rule of law ought to comfort those who still think that rules should matter.” https://politicalwire.com/2023/03/31/trumps-attorneys-and-the-crimes-they-enabled/

Some interesting comments from some lawyers on Meidastouch podcast, prosecutors don't like going into things blind. They like putting forth the easier stuff first as trial runs b/c they don't like to lose. That's potentially why they went after the Trump org first and Weisselberg. This gives them insight into how the jury reacts to things.. what works and what doesn't. It's also probably why they're moving forward w/ the Stormy Daniels hush money payments and the Catch & Kill conspiracy first. They learn lessons on how to bring a former President to trial. Then they move forward w/ other things.

Yeah i just don't think that'll include a withdrawal by Russia. Besides... if the rumors of Ukraine's coming counter offensive are true, Russia might not last until the 2024 US election anyway.
-
I doubt they'd do a withdrawal. Putin is all in. He wants a ceasefire so he can negotiate keeping what he's taken. If he just withdrawals then it's a net loss. Putin can't have that imo.
-
Of course he could "solve" it in 24 hrs. He'd withhold aid to Ukraine and pressure Zelensky to give in to Putin. Putin wants to stop the fighting and solidify control over the territories he's annexed. He knows that if Western aid to Ukraine continues and fighting continues, he's going to lose it all and probably more. Trump would withhold aid and push Ukraine to give up those territories in exchange for a ceasefire. Putin's entire strategy now is to solidify control of what he has (maybe squeak out a win in Bahkmut and Avdiivka) and then hold on until 2024 in hopes that Trump will succeed in a coup in the US... b/c he won't win the election out right.
-
Of course. When he says this is the "final battle", he's saying for US democracy. If he somehow wins again, it's over. If he gets the nomination, he'll try to steal it again w/ a better idea on how to do it.

Dude, Barr and Durham investigated the origins of the Russia investigation and found nothing. Stop believing those who have been proven to lie to you for money.

He doesn't know anything about that.
