  1. Yes tackles are worth more than guards, but the point was it wasn't like Jones was killing it. Both flashed and both had rough spots as rookies. Time will tell in the long run but for the moment it's still up in the air was my point.
  2. It's already started on every radio show and podcast I listen to at work. Just reason after reason to not take Alt and asking why Olu isn't neck and neck with him anymore while discussing other options. Then they end up drafting alt half the time in mocks lol
  3. Broderick 4 penalties, 4 sacks, 60PFF 760snaps Skronski 1 penalty, 5 sacks 61PFF 850snaps. I know off isn't a great choice but it's a quick lookup. Jones also played next to a solid guard while skronski was in a retard sandwich. O and skronski had his fucking appendix out. Let's think about this before we jump to judgments.
  4. Ok I'll bite. What makes you think Alt won't be ready day one but Olu who whiffs on blocks in the run game 5+ times a game will be?
  5. Ya, outside the saints, broncos, raiders, and vikings the chance of finding a trade partner is slim. And that requires a qb they want falling to us most likely.
  6. Would have e been better if he called them the redskins
  7. I can see this. I didn't notice to much of a problem with balance though. I watched 3 games and he only lost balance a couple times. The dude has a crazy jump set and has no balance problem with it. But NFL strength could be the tipping point no pun intended.
  8. I've heard it a few times. Never with any clarification on if it's man For man or with a trade back though.
  9. It is stupid and it won't happen If he is banging the table they will tell him tough shit because teams aren't built out of 3 players. The more ammo you put into one pick the more it going wrong has a chance to hurt the team. Even if it works out you trade 3 picks for 1 and now there are two vets you have to pay 5 times the money a rookie would cost. It has a cascade effect on roster building and should only be done when you have excess draft capital or see a franchise changing player you could get no other way which is why this is mostly done for QBs. It also blows up in people's faces most of the time. Also the chances of any of the top 5 tackles two of which we aren't sure can play LT dropping low enough to target is unlikely. All the other tackles you can't be sure can play day one.
  10. If he takes nabers or Anything but a LT at 7 we sign a band-aid. You don't trade up in that scenario. If you draft a guy later and he can play then great but you bring in peat and hope we don't get fucked a 3rd year in a row. You don't blow your draft bank to make a desperate jump for a tackle
  11. If we didn't think he had a shot of being there why would we even debate the choice of him or alt?
  12. Iv watched a half dozen people break him down and punch power and not bulldozing defenders is the one that comes up every time. There are other nit picks here and there but nothing anyone ever acts like is serious.
  13. Kinda like our conversation yesterday I think it's the lack of wow blocks. People love road graders, and a punch that stuns rushers. He doesn't have that he looks almost effortless out there as he redirects and walls people off and in the name of our Lord and Savior Todd Howard "it just works" Edit: and I mean effortless in a good way. He sometimes sticks out one arm and stops people with what looks like the effort of a dad stoping his kid from stumbling.
  14. I'm with you all the way on this. He whiffs on run blocks at a troubling rate. Also gives up a lot of ground before he anchors giving you a smaller pocket to work with. My board is Alt Fuaga Troy Latham Olu Fuaga and Latham slightly under their counter parts since we aren't sure they can cover the blind side but they are very close otherwise imo
  15. @TitanTonyin all seriousness. We had a big thread already discussing the option. Its on page 3 called if Brock Bowers blows up the combine
  16. Ya your right. I sometimes even have to rewatch these guys college tape because I'll get sucked into what's going on with the ball and trail off the guy I was trying to watch. I concede the point
  17. Very true. But doesn't that fit into my takes more understanding of the game comment? If you don't know better you think what an amazing run. If you do know what you are watching you know fatty just threw the DE into a linebacker opening a massive hole Earl Campbell could drive his golf cart through
  18. I'm in the same boat. I couldn't be mad if we went nabers, or odunze for that matter. But as pumped as I would be hoping they fix that LT spot with a bandaid or a latter pick is very iffy to me. The hype around this tackle class I think is misleading people. There is tons of talent in it for sure but outside the top 4 most either aren't sure fire plug and play guys or have some serious work to do to fix problems. Paul is a great example. He's good, but he has serious problems with guys getting inside his arms. That is certainly fixable but if they trotted him out there day one any rusher with good hands and body control could eat him alive.
  19. Same reason most fans don't like defense. It takes more knowledge of the game to appreciate.
  20. Killer instinct isn't something you can teach but if they can get Alt to just play a little angry he could be absolutely great. But I can see the allure of nabers, if he can come close to his college tape he should be elite elite. That said I doubt we will have our pick of the two
  21. Mason Rudolph, we could get both vikings first rounders if we added him to the pot
