WG53
Since this is about Xbox, how many have you had the 3 red rings of death? It happened to me 3 times. I have seen the light as red before but it was simply the power cord being a bit loose. Had that xbox since 06 or 07 I think. Never had to be replaced. Did you buy it upon its release? I forgot to add that I caused the rings of death once myself, my bad lol

gatordude731
Acting like genitalia. More idiocy from you. Halo 3 was better because it has been the best multiplayer experience of the current console's generation. If you are judging a fps by its singleplayer campaigns then you are totally offbase. Fps campaigns are very boring. Have you played the Bioshock games?
gatordude731
Also, a post was actually asked on reddit for "People who are still buying the Xbox One what are your reasons" and this was the top post. I rarely buy used games I have a steady internet connection I don't consider $100 over a 5-8 year span to be significant I regularly host people to watch shows like Game of Thrones, and simple features like being able to say "Xbox on, watch game of thrones" rather than finding a remote and navigating menus is appealing to me. I watch sports I have a feeling that the entertainment experience (even disregarding live tv) will be better on the XB1 and that is important to me for a living room device. I like the idea that even the disc-based games that might be cheaper than games purchased and downloaded can be installed and discarded and that I will be able to say "Xbox, play Halo or The Division rather than finding the game disc and inserting it into the tray. I don't see how this would be possible on the PS3 considering their lack of DRM. I prefer the Xbox 360 controller I subscribe to Xbox Music and other MS products I have purchased Xbox movies and TV shows that I will presumably have access to on the XB1 I see value in the potential ecosystem integration given the fact that the XB1 runs a version of windows. I see value in having Skype on my TV I have more confidence in Microsoft's online capabilities with regard to multiplayer. Which in my opinion are some decent points. I also don't think Sony really showed me anything with their exclusives. Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be on the Xbone as well and I thought that was the PS4s main beast exclusive. Xbone did show a shit ton of exclusives that I was interested in as well. If anyone was interested in the post here it is if you want a look see yourself http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/1g4zk1/people_who_are_still_backing_the_xbox_one_over/#ex
gatordude731
I just wanted to add another post showing how much Microsoft is adding into their exclusives. I didn't realize there was so many new IPs they're making for this new console. There's a post on reddit showing each consoles Launch and Exclusives titles. Here is the post in general http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/1g4s1d/a_lot_of_people_are_confused_as_to_which_games/ And also another redditor made a simple diagram showing off what each system is going to have and share
OzTitan
Not sure if some of those consoles ones aren't PC too, but it's a pretty good graph.
Jamalisms
So... someone interpret this for me. What are some examples, according to this, of DRM that could happen on the PS4? http://www.forbes.com/sites/emmawoollacott/2013/06/12/sorry-playstation-4-games-may-still-carry-drm/?partner=yahootix

I don't know if this was already in place for the PS3, but this was already common on the 360. For example, Battlefield 3 required you to purchase an online pass if you bought the game used. If you never intend to play a used game online, then you won't be required to purchase the pass.

This really lessens the impact of the DRM issue in my opinion as most games belong to 3rd parties and they will likely institute the same practices cross platform. I still don't think the PS4 online DRM requirement is nearly as bad as the Xbox One DRM requirement. If you want to buy a used game on the PS4, but not play it online, you won't have to worry about 3rd party publishers charging you to play the game. There would be no way for them to know anyway since the PS4 doesn't require a connection to the internet every 24 hours. Whereas with the Xbox One, regardless as to if you wish to play a game online or not, you will still be required to pass their DRM requirements. The PS4 is the lesser of the two evils in this situation.

Ubisoft, Bioware, EA, and many others already require it. They can use that authentication method to enforce DRM. Sony is just saying its not built into the framework like it is on the Xbox. Essentially it boils down to 1st party titles for Sony being unrestricted but everything is else will be at the discretion of the 3rd party publishers. They have the most to lose with the used game market. They won't lose money on ps4 games if they can help it.

They have the most to lose with the used game market. They won't lose money on ps4 games if they can help it. What your describing could already be enforced on the current generation of consoles then. Why would they not enforce it now, but decide to enforce it on the next generation of consoles? “Similar to PlayStation 3 today, PlayStation 4 will not have any gating restrictions for used disc-based games. When a gamer buys a PS4 disc, they have the right to use that copy of the game, so they can trade-in the game at retail, sell it to another person, lend it to a friend, or keep it forever. Furthermore, users will not have to go through activation steps or be charged usage fees when playing used disc-based games on their PlayStation 4,” says the company on its PS4 forum. It adds: “Don’t worry, the Online Pass program for PlayStation first-party games will not continue on PS4. But basically similar to PS3, we will not dictate the online used game strategy of its publishing partners.” In other words, gamers will be able to trade discs all they like, and there will be no restrictions on first-party games. However, the online component of third-party games may still be restricted by publishers, for example through an online pass system. To me, that says that used 1st party PS4 games will be able to be played online at no additional cost to the player, but that 3rd party publishers may charge you at their discretion to play online. Could a 3rd party publisher muscle you into having to go online and charging you to play your used game that you intend to play offline? Sure, but I can't imagine why they'd do it on next generation consoles when they could already do it now.

headhunter
Now I feel like i want an Xbox One now, it does have a certain cool factor than Ps4. No doubt it has way more potential than PS4 in a couple years. In the long run Xbox One may be the smart choice. Tomorrow ill probably change my mind again.
