JungleKicker
Man. This guy is the real deal. I remember lots of folks on titanscentral.net wanting the Titans to draft him in Round 2. Boy, they were right. Who wouldn't take Colin Kaepernick over Jake Locker at this point? Imagine if we had taken J.J. Watt in Round 1 and traded up a few spots to nab Kaepernick in Round 2 .... Close your eyes and just imagine ... Don't mean to diss Locker or anything ...
CMJ
Unlike Locker he actually learned from sitting down for a full year.
Jamalisms
Helps to have a dominant D and consistently powerful rushing attack.
oldschool
Helps to have a dominant D and consistently powerful rushing attack. It also helps to have two receivers running seam routes with only one defender between both of them.
Number9
I think the better question for comparison is do you think the Titans should have taken Kap at #8? I say no.
oldschool
I think the better question for comparison is do you think the Titans should have taken Kap at #8? I say no. Actually the more relevant question is should Locker have been drafted 8th if he was such a project?
JungleKicker
I think the better question for comparison is do you think the Titans should have taken Kap at #8? I say no. Of course it's all hindsight at this point, but Kaepernick is clearly a Top 10 talent ... I wouldn't be shocked to see him playing in the Super Bowl this year. reo
Project players are drafted later b/c they're more of a risk. If Kaep becomes a franchise QB then he was a top talent and should've been drafted high, same goes for Locker. Doesn't matter if it takes 1 year or 4. A franchise QB us worth drafting high. They drop due to less talent and/or highroad risk due to being raw. But if you know they'll end up being a franchise guy then they're worth drafting high. JungleKicker
He's big. He's athletic. He has a strong arm. And here's the kicker: He throws the ball accurately! This, my friends, is key.
Denali
Dante was a project, having come from Santa Clara. McNair was a project, having come from Alcorn State. And even though he wasn't drafted by the Oilers, Moon was a project, having come from the CFL (even with all of those Grey Cups). This organization has had a history of successfully drafting 1st round QBs or bringing in QBs that were projects. If they get burned with Locker, maybe they will rethink the notion of drafting a project QB.

freakingeek
CK looks really good but with that defense and running back like Gore, he has to do a lot less. Jake has seldom played with a lead and that affects the play caling. I would say Locker would look a lot better if he was playing for the Niners. It's more like to me that the Niners focus on the run from their formations to their bevy of first round lineman. Their run scheme is nuanced and complex. They have an identity. The Titans tried to leapfrog into a pass-first attack and thought the running game would take care of itself. It has come back to bite them.
